They had them all over the place. Tens of thousands involved here in the UK. It was embarrassing really. What makes them think they have anything to do with who is US President? We have no say in the matter. It was a democratic election and the guy you don't like won. Tough. I was tempted to tell them to go fuck themselves, but thought, on balance, that the majority probably already were.
To name a few the rght to reproductive freedom, right to protest, 4th amendment right against unlawful search and seizure, equal protection, right to marriage if your LGBT, right to medical care as with the defunding of PP many women will not have access to female care in a large percentage of rural communties, right to a free press and not to mention the right to life liberty and the pursuit of happiness as Trump steals all of our money to give billionaires tax cuts while starting another unnecessary war killing millions and creating even more terrorists that hate America.
Possibly none and having millions of people peacefully protest for those liberties will be the reason why. Do you have to wait now for all your rights and liberties to be taken away to protest? what good is that. This is grassroots unity behind a cause, that's what America is all about. When the tea party freaks were protesting everywhere they hadn't had any civil liberties taken away either. They were exercising their rights and mobilizing their cause. That helped take Congress back at the next mid term election. This is the same thing, although on a more greater scale. If I have any criticism it's this: I sure hope all those bitches voted on election day haha
Because the protests throughout the world and even here wasn't all about trump.. Sent from my BLU LIFE ONE X using Tapatalk
"why wait for all your rights to be taken away..protest now" Yes and we should also start celebrating the NYJ SB victory..thats just around the corner
Doubt it doubt it doubt it This is why we live in a democracy..most Republicans want to get re elected so these issues are pretty unpopular especially LGBT and PP and would never pass this stuff Equal protection? Search and seizure...? We have a Bill of Rights you know Wow Noam Get a grip
Debbie Wasserman Schultz unscathed by the primary corruption scandal; faithfully leading the women's rights charge!
I may be wrong on this subject, but isn't the Mexico City Policy for "international" planned parenthoods as well as foreign abortions? If defunding planned parenthood for operating outside of this country as well as providing abortions outside of this country I could care less. We have our own problems and need to focus inward instead of being a charity center. Now if I am misunderstanding this and the Mexico City Policy calls for internal bans on abortion as well as defunding planned parenthood in the states I can understand the outrage.
LGBT right to marriage goes away as does roe v wade with one more justice opening. Trump wants to stop and frisk which predominantly targets people of color. Equal protection is under attack. Our bill of rights are diluted every time a Republican takes a statehouse more so when they win the presidency. Even more so when that President appoints a white supremacist to attorney general. In regards to right to protest and the 1st amendment this is right that Republicans and big corporations have been attacking for years. Using Republican statehouse the last 15 years they have made many peaceful protest actions felonies and added crazy restitution requirements where protesters face restitution of hundreds of thousands of dollars that companies do not have to prove. This has been a successful tool of big oil companies to prevent protests after spilling oil on lands. Now they are pushing new proposals of long prison terms and obscene fines in 5 Republican controlled states. As Republicans and thier corporate allies destroy this country and poison our air and water they will allow no dissent. It is what they do. They steal, destroy and rob as much as they can and then they lie about it. Unfortunately, they are very good at it. One could go on about women's right to equal protection, access to health care, equality in cost of health care is under attack or talk about how the free press has been targeted and threatened by this new gestapo. Their attack on the truth with their alt truth ideas and blatant lies are probably the most dangerous thing they are doing and eerily Hitler like. The list is so long one could write for days and barely scratch the surface of how dangerous Trump and the Republicans are to Democracy, to freedom and to the safety of the world. A few post above asks why are they protesting in Britain. How does that affect them. Comrade Trump wants to end NATO allowing Russian aggression a free reign militarily and economically throughout Europe. When he does things like threaten China last week resulting in China threatening nuclear retaliation yes Europe should be scares. When he gives China a huge economic gift like he did today yes they should be worried. When trump isolates the US because of his bizarre actions yes the world should be afraid. Do we need to go on?
This is how I see it. America did the unthinkable 8 years ago and picked a black President. This is like eating something you aren't used to where your stomach doesn't agree with what you ate. So after 8 years, the Obama meal created some gas.America voted for Trump to release this gas.Trump is basically the fart that came after the Obama meal. From Obama to Trump. Two very different ends of the spectrum.
I saw two headlines about this today. 1)Madonna went on one her crazy rants cursing out Trump and telling everyone she wants to blow up the White House. She has a few screws loose. Great choice for a speaker. 2)Taylor Swift tweeted out a supportive message and some of the crazy bitches involved with the rallies started cursing her out on Twitter. They're just looking for a reason to lash out. No logic involved. This was the tweet that enraged many of the lunatics. Taylor Swift @taylorswift13 Jan 21 So much love, pride, and respect for those who marched. I'm proud to be a woman today, and every day. #WomensMarch
and another good one was how angry "minorities" wanted to turn the march into an opportunity to complain about "white privilege": https://www.nytimes.com/2017/01/09/...ns-contentious-dialogues-about-race.html?_r=0 Ms. Willis, the South Carolina wedding minister, had been looking forward to the salve of rallying with people who share her values, a rarity in her home state, where she said she had been insulted and shouted at for marrying gay couples. But then she read a post by ShiShi Rose, a 27-year-old blogger from Brooklyn. “Now is the time for you to be listening more, talking less,” Ms. Rose wrote. “You should be reading our books and understanding the roots of racism and white supremacy. Listening to our speeches. You should be drowning yourselves in our poetry.” It rubbed Ms. Willis the wrong way. “How do you know that I’m not reading black poetry?” she asked in an interview. Ms. Willis says that she understands being born white gives her advantages, and that she is always open to learning more about the struggles of others. But, she said, “The last thing that is going to make me endeared to you, to know you and love you more, is if you are sitting there wagging your finger at me.” Ms. Rose said in an interview that the intention of the post was not to weed people out but rather to make them understand that they had a lot of learning to do. “I needed them to understand that they don’t just get to join the march and not check their privilege constantly,” she said. That phrase — check your privilege — exasperates Ms. Willis. She asked a reporter: “Can you please tell me what that means?”
So according to MoWilkBeast, you can only protest for your own rights. Not for other people. Guess I can never argue for the rights of black people or gay people or any religion since none of those apply to me.
my understanding is that hte policy cuts funding to nations for planned parenthood and birth control type things if they use their own money to fund abortions. i dont like it because the more fucking people habitating this world the less resources, the more kids in underdevoloped countries the more it will end up costing us. i am all for just about any measure to keep motherfuckers from having babies, especially those that are unfit or unable to take care of them.
