and me too). My dream is that Eric Mangini is still the coach of the Jets in 2015. That will mean we will have won at least one Super Bowl, and have changed the perception of this team for a generation to come. It will mean that the JETS have become known as a truly stable franchise, marked by a continued run of excellence (double digit wins each year for a decade and more, and a couple of Super Bowl appearances and trophies). And it will mean that when one of us aldecockers gets annoyed one day and barks out "Same Old Jets", people just stare blankly back and wonder what the hell we're talking about. If all that comes to pass, Eric won't be merely "Mangenius", he will be our MANGENIE. Our oasis after nearly half a century spent wandering the desert of broken dreams. (Damn....I'm starting to believe it.)
I agree with your sentiments, but that's some mangled Anglicized Yiddish! I think most people would write it alta kocker, as "alta" is Yiddish for old, and "kocker," well we all know what "ka ka" is, don't we?
Way ahead of yourself my man. Until then find a beer that tends to lock in that ice cold rocky mountain taste.
I told you all this guy was the real deal..From my first post last spring I knew this guy had the right stuff..juist had that feeling
How about 1 winning season? So far I like everything Mangini has brought to the NYJ, but there has to be a window of a few years before we pass complete judgement. All signs point to yes so far, but I thought Herm was a good coach for 2-3 years before everything went sour. Same thing could, hopefully it won't, but could happen with Mangini.
I always root for our coaches to stay on for life until they either leave or start sucking. One year at a time. My dream? A 25-30 year career for Mangini, decades of Steelers/49er's - style dominance in the league (meaning at least four rings), and Mangini breaking Shula's record for victories. Like I said, it's a dream. One year at a time.
25-30, why not bring back joe walton, or walt michaels. We can do better than that. We need somebody with a whip who can make these guys play for their jobs!
If Mangini's still here we better have won a couple of Super Bowls and be dominating all three phases of the game.
agreed, but before we fire the coach, how about we give him the talent to make a difference. Too many holes on this team to blame the coach. Mangini is doing a great job considering the talent he has.
That's why it's called "a dream" fellas. Can't we dream a little bit? Reality will come soon enough, probably wearing number 54 in black and orange and heading straight for Chadwick on Sunday.
amen, once is all the dreamers wake up on sunday, chad is going to have that #54 all over his jersey. but I still see playoffs in our horizon!
