A highly complementary editorial in Chicago Tribune's sports section today on Mangini. See excerpt below, which includes a quote from a newer Bear and former friendly face, Darrell McClover.... When Mangini walked off the field with his arm around defensive tackle Dewayne Robertson, reporters interpreted the gesture as another sign of the narrowing gap between players and their coach. "He's not like a lot of people say?he's all right with his players," said Bears linebacker Darrell McClover, a former Jets player whom Mangini cut in September. "When you see him, he'll talk to you. He's a cool guy. What's the word I'm looking for? Detail-oriented." Another word is workaholic. That makes the Jets potentially more dangerous Sunday than their co-tenants at Giants Stadium were for the Bears.
I read in the Daily News this morning that when he walked in the locker room after they beat the Patsies last week,,,,,he did the "penquin shuffle" and the players howled....
..and another recent Jet will be returning to the Meadowlands in a Bear uniform as well on Sunday....Derrick Strait
him cutting mcclover is the only move of his i didnt like. but were not missing mcclover as much since smith has become a demon on ST. but wouldnt it be nice to have smith and mcclover just barrel into someone.
Well I'm glad to see that McGlover was given a chance somewhere else. Does anyone know if he's seeing time besides ST play? Definitely a specimin at LB from a speed perspective, but too small to fit our 3-4 needs. Brad Smith is contributing more on ST than anyone ever has, including McGlover.
ESPN stats indicate he hasn't appeared in a game yet for the Bears. That is a tough lineup to crack. Lance Briggs makes McClover look slow...
