Haha, a Polack friend of mine is so proud of this. And before anyone craps on me with their ultra-sensitivity, he calls me a guinea mutt.
I've already received two responses. I evidently ruffled JohnMcClain's feathers with my email, as he quickly retorted, His reading comprehension must not be very good. Little wonder that Joe hasn't made it yet. Here is Bernie Miklasz's response: Here is Frank Cooney's response: I thanked him for his helpful suggestions, apologized for venting on him when he is a big Klecko supporter, and inquired when would be the best time to write next year and whom would be best to target.
Klecko was in the booth at halftime in the 1st preseason game. The announcer brought up the HOF and Klecko said he wants to be inducted.
Of course he wants to be inducted, but when I said I don't think he cares anymore, more like pfffffffffft, not ever gonna happen, why waste my mental energy.
Cooney sounds like a major dikk. SUBMIT YOUR RANT. So much potential. In fact, I may be changing out my sig. 'Howinhell'? Unless we're speaking Pictish or something, is this guy 15 years old? EDIT & P.S.: So basically you have to present a case? I mean, Cris Carter is in there basically because of his epic eyebrows, c'mon now.
Yes, he sounds like a MAJOR, arrogant prick, and like he a little ticked himself. He should know that fans don't know who is for Klecko and who isn't, why he hasn't been elected, and understood. He sounds like an attorney. It's not my job to present a case for Joe Klecko. Since there was an injustice with Joe and others not being elected to the HOF earlier, the members of the committee should have a burning desire to right the wrong that was committed to these players. Having to pick only 2 players is stupid. They ought to forget the freaking rules, and every single player that should be in the HOF and isn't, should all be elected in one or two years. Typical asshole bureaucratic BS if you ask me.
Never heard of the story but holy cow!!! http://thestacks.deadspin.com/when-...usic-lyric-come-to-life-1717060008/1717487070 "The only affair involving Stabler that brings no laughter, it seems, is the ugly incident after the 1978 season, when Sacramento writer Bob Padecky was set up for a cocaine bust in Gulf Shores. The circumstantial evidence against Stabler was considerable. Padecky was one of his least favorite writers, yet was invited to Stabler’s hometown for an exclusive interview. Coke was planted under the fender of his rented car and police were tipped off. Padecky unwittingly trivialized the incident a bit with his frenetic by-lined account of his harrowing jail term—which lasted five minutes before the cops realized it was a prank. But the fact remains that someone had executed a cruel and potentially dangerous stunt, and many observers felt that some of Stabler’s friends had participated—with or without his knowledge. When the subject is raised now, all the whimsical and piratical expressions dissolve into a look of abject innocence. “I just don’t know what happened,” he insists. “Maybe nobody ever will.”"
Kinda sounds like if we email the right people, with the right arguments, we can make a difference... If you get a response could be worth letting us know.
It's so frustrating that Klecko isn't in. His career really speaks for itself, but on top of that I've seen lots of respected ex NFLers say he should be in. I hope one day soon, but I lose faith a little more each year.
Always loved the Jets those years Especially Klecko and Gastineau Wanna laugh ?. Reading this and just grilled some Polish Sausage lol Lol If NC gets a Petition going let's all sign!
I definitely think we can make a difference. Can you imagine if the committee members get hundred, or even thousands of emails from Jets fans urging them to elect Klecko? I will definitely let you know if I get a response from Cooney or anyone else.
You're welcome. I hope that more will write. If only 1 or 2 of us write, it won't accomplish anything, but if hundreds or thousands write, they'll have to sit up and take notice.
Thanks. I hope that other will write as well. If I'm the only one who writes, it won't do any good. If lots of people write, there's a chance it could make a difference.
Well, Paul Zimmerman and his cronies never forgave Stabler, that's for sure. Consider what some of his Raider teammates probably got away with, I am sure that's the tip of the iceburg.
Back in the early 80's I used to go out with a Raider cheerleader. She took me to some player parties. Good fun was had by all...
Lunch pail guy, non flashy... that is the answer. Plus his playing 3 positions have got the stats guys confused. Watch the play not the numbers asshats
Excellent letter, hopefully you will knock some sense into them. Klecko does belong but I don't think the reason he is a Jet is keeping him out. As a general rule defensive lineman are not given proper consideration. For example how about these guys also? Roger Brown, Alex Karras, Charles Haley, and Richard Dent just to name a few. I always thought Fred Smerlas should be a hall of famer but nose tackles are treated worst by when it comes to defensive lineman for the hall of fame.
