Im telling you guys right now do not be surprised if the jets look into acquiring Matt Schaub in the offseason. They pursued heavely last year to trade for him and he would really fit our system. We got some cap space and Tangini has said it time and time again "if we have any chance of mproving the overall talent of this franchise they will make a move". IMO Schaub has the charachteristics of a good nfl QB.

Oh please, no. I do not like that guy. He looks like a career backup to me.

Also, the Jets need to be sure Clemens isn't the answer before they even consider bringing in Schaub.

The last thing I want to do is trade for a QB. We do not even know what we have in Clemens yet.

Ramsey, I think, will not cut it.

i think schaub is a free agent next yr ..he is also one of the few qb's to torch the ne defense....mangini likes him..that's enough for me ...

yes schaub would be a free agent next year. I personally have met chad pennington and he is one of the nicest people you could meet and is playing formidable considering 2 shoulder surgeries. But this league gets tougher and more physical every year which means your QB has to at least have some physical talent not just intelligence. Chads arm IMO looks weak and tired which will lead to interceptions and Mangini will not tolerate it.

One more year of Pennington, if he continues to play like this will see Clemens early next year. If Pennington gets it together we may not see Clemens until 2008.

Ramsey is gone next year, take that to the bank.

Equally as certain is that Clemens will not be by-passed until we find out what we've got with him. I really like the idea of having Brad Smith around too and would like to see him taking reps to see what he has.

Is it possible that we could start Clemens next year and have Penny and Smith as B/U's, thereby opening up a roster spot?

Have you heard of that dude we drafted last year in the 2nd round? Kellen Clemens. There is no way we give anything up for another QB.

Why would the Jets even consider acquiring another QB until they have looked at Kellen Clemens in the starter's role? What could possibly drive them to do that?

Are you for real? If the Jets look elsewhere for a Qb they won't be going far. Why do you think we drafted Clemens? We're done with QB's for the next several years.

I believe Schaub will be a restricted FA next year meaning most likley we would need to give up a 1st and third unless we could work a better trade for him. In 2008 he will be unrestricted if he is not resigned or tagged witht eh transition tag.

They should turn the team over to Brad Smith after the next loss.

Omg. Matt Schaub is not needed. Clemens was drafted to be our qb in the future. If he isn't that he was a waste of a pick. Chad is just holding the fort right now. Clemens has a rocket arm, with protection he can be a good QB. No need for Schaub.

Brad Smith is the future of our team. Clemens has a decent arm, hardly a rocket arm and he is very short for a prototypical QB.

Exactly...Clemens is here for a reason and right now we have no idea what he can or can not do. I really don;t think we will find out any time soon unless Chad completely falls apart.

He's the same height as brad smith.....http://www.nfl.com/teams/rosters/NYJ

We went over this already. Smith isn't accurate enough, he'll be a very good WR though.

Brad Smith or Clemens. But regardless I do not want to see Matt Schaub in a Jets uniform. That was the whole point I was trying to make. In honest I dont care if its either Clemens or Smith as long as they take us somewhere. Neither of them have showed anything at qb obviously cause neither have had a chance so therefore I really dont have any sentiment or prefence for either.

They are listed as the same height by the Jets, they aren't. He was listed as 6 1 and 1/2 in the Oregon papers and you can beat that was a cheat as well.
