Getting rid of Wilk would be addition by subtraction... let Williams assume the leadership role along with Adams , as Mo was never a leader anyway. I think I read that if we cut Mo after June 1 we'd save $17mil with only $3mil in dead $. If true this is a no brainer
The Jets cannot get Wilkerson off of their roster fast enough. He sets a terrible example for our young players. Just another case of a player who stopped doing his job once he received his big contract.
Come on guys, we all know that some other team is going to pick him up on a bargain deal, and we are going to cringe as he returns to all pro level.
That's got nothing to do with us. If they can get that idiot motivated they should put out a Self Help book on the case study.
I'm just thinking Wilkerson has issues with management. I think he's still pissed about how they handled his contract and doesn't give a crap about going to meetings.
But would add $6M on 2019 cap, if he is released before June 1 it's a $11M cap savings, $9M dead money but nothing in 2019
damn shame oh well, more annoying vets off the roster next year .... Mo and Skrine specifically. McLendon will probably stick around, he's been solid
I think you’re right but why sign the contract then? He could’ve either waited for free agency or forced a sign & Trade. He looks & sounds like a guy that’s mailed it in & might be done.Wouldnt be surprised if he just retired.Sounds crazy but guys are stepping away earlier & earlier now. This guy doesn’t like football anymore. His actions couldn’t make that more obvious
Can someone clarify? If we cut him in March, we save 11 million, but 17 million if we wait until June? Is that correct? Seems like a weird way to structure a contract (saving more money by cutting him later), but I could be reading this wrong.
Hes on a 1 year deal so he will definitely be gone. Not sure what they will do with Carpenter. I do think the subpar play at the line starts with the center so perhaps they will give him another year.
June 1st designation they get to take the remaining prorated signing bonus hit on 2019 cap All just a question of when they want to take the cap hit, $3M 2018 and $6M 2019 or all $9M in 2018
Tough shit. We all have issues with "management", or the customers, or our co-workers, but most us make a lot less than he does and we still show up on time. As some one else said, quoting Branch Rickey: "Addition by subtraction". Good riddance!
I frankly don't give two fucks about that. We should have never signed his sorry ass. We should have kept Richardson and gotten rid of his sorry ass. Way the hell over rated. He is lazy and not a leader.
