surely jake the snake is done!!! how long can shanahan keep playing him? if broncs want to win the division or get a wildcard spot surely jay cutler has to be starter next week....he has a cannon for an arm and can't do much worse than jake at the moment if we are gonna lose i would rather it be giving the future of the broncos some good experience rather than sinking like the titanic with plummer at the helm
im guessing u got foxtel digital? Man fox sports 3 is much better than fox footy... especially for the afl offseason. Anyway i never really have been too high on Culter
When you rush for under 40 yards and give up 200+ yards rushing, the least of your worries as a team should be the QB. But that's the NFL. QB's get too much credit or too much blame. Denver should look at their line play, both offensive and defensive, not the QB. If Plummer wasn't such a good scrambler, there would have been alot of sacks in the last few games. That said, maybe a change might spark their team like it has in Dallas. I hope not.
I guess you didn't actually bother to watch the game. Plummer is miserable and absolutely the reason Denver lost yesterday. Denver held Green to almost nothing and Larry Johnson got his yards but 19 points on the road should be good enough to win most weeks. Denver would've had 3 points if it wasn't for a lucky illegal contact penalty on another horrible Plummer INT.
LOL Watch the game again or look at the drive charts. Every Denver drive was killed by a stupid penaly or lack of being able to run. If you put your QB in a 3rd and long on every set of downs, you are going to fail. The fact that he turned the ball over only once, on a pass that hit the TE in the hands, was pretty amazing to me. 3rd and 2... a running play that loses 3 yards... all the QB's fault. 3rd and 19 after a penalty... What no first down... he sucks. Did he come up with big plays to carry his team? No. Did he lose it for them? No.
In defense of Plummer Denver is very banged up now especially along the OL and DL. KC exploited their OL problems with a very aggressive blitzing gameplan. They put a lot of pressure on Plummer. there were a few times that Plummer looked very good and a number of plays where he looked awful. Replacing Plummer may give the team a boost but it will not heal their injuries. The question is how good is Cutler and how far along is he in development. The loss to SD 2 weeks ago had to be a very demoralizing loss for Denver which is even worse after thier loss yeserday. They are real close to falling off a cliff right now with two tough games coming out. A QB change is a high risk high reward move. Hard to advocate for against such a thing without knowing what Shanahan knows about Cutler. Looking good in pre-season is quite different than looking good in December. I would not write Denver off with or without Plummer. They are a very good team and 5 games is quite enough time foir them to gain momentum and start playing well again. Although they are at crossroads point where they could fall apart quite easily.
plummer is the best choice for this team to win, but i think people still look at plummer as a guy that can't win the big game - NE, Ind, KC and they will say a nice regular season record is nice, but the guy makes the big mistake in the big game every time and we need a change -- that change could spell the end of a season in Denver their unstoppable D for the first 6 weeks is getting ripped apart now and their offense can't score
My point was that Pennington gives us a better chance to win now than KC or Ramsey, but people don't think he can win the big games (or at least I don't). And yes, he will lead us to a .500+ record this year (probably), but he has made and does make those big mistakes in big games (or two or three big mistakes). And, if you do take him it, you pretty much concede the season.
