banged up San Diego team traveling across the country for a game the Jets have to lose. History suggests the Jets will find away to win. I am confident Petty is bad enough to get the job done however. I will be there today rooting for the Jets!
I would be extremely concerned if Josh were still playing. While I think Bryce will be better today I don’t think he’ll keep pace with Rivers LA 29. Jets 20
Hopefully Bryce can lead the team to a 5-11 record and give us a shot. If he does he is worth th draft pick spent.
I hope not. This will be the rare time I cheer against the Jets. The Jets are currently at #10, and they should be able to pick to at least 2 spots between the next two weeks. If not three. From a draft perspective, the worst would be a win today and then a win against a Patriots team that has clinched 1st seed. The highest the Jets could be would be 16th in that scenario. The lowest, if they can lose both, would be 6th or 7th if they catch some breaks.
Make your peace with it. We always win against Chargers at home. This won't be different. Jets will win and we will slide out ot Top 10 pick.
I always root for my team to win, not worried about a draft pick, they will be fine with whomever they select as long as the scouts can give Mac the best group of guys to choose from which there will be plenty with a top 10 or top 15. Lamar Jackson might still be there, Luke Falk might still be there, an offensive lineman like Mcglinchey might still be there, Saquan Barkley might still be there, plenty of good players to be had.
Worrying about winning? Why? So we can get a better pick? So what? Oh I know? So the bipolar Jets fans can write another poor draft thread no matter who we choose?
Kinda makes those 5 wins we have already meaningful. The Giants will probably wind up with Rosen and the Jets...? We'll get what's left over.
While I was rooting for the jets to win as many games as possible this year, we are well beyond the point of wanting wins and now are in the lose lose lose realm. We are rooting today for every team that team name starts with a B (except the Browns) to win to help us inch our way up the draft board. Still very realistic shot of getting into the top 4-5 picks which gives us much more flexibility to get a QB.
Someone raised this point on another thread. Next week, I would not be surprised if the Pats start Hoyer against the Jets and rest Brady in a game they don't need to win. It would very Belichick-like to stick it to the Jets by sacrificing a game and further screwing up the Jets draft position.
I think the Jets will lose bad today. Rivers is going to put on a clinic, because we don't get pressure on the quarterback. As for the Jets last game, the Patriots may still be fighting for HFA, unless somehow the Texans upset the Steelers today. Don't write off the Bills today either...I could see them pulling the upset in Gillette Stadium... A revenge game for that Gronk cheap shot. Go ahead and quote me on that.
Only thing I disagree with is Bills winning at Gillette stadium, pats are strong at home and the zebras will fall into the bellichick trance.
Of course we will win today, we only have a couple more chances to fuck up our draft slot permanently, Petty will go out with a new set of plays and be bombing balls downfield at Robbie all game, why ? I took Robbie out of all my fantasy football teams that is why. Oh and Jets.
Oh and I also transferred in Rivers so Skrine will now also pull in 3 int's and do me over for the semi final games.
Plus 10 Million .. Play you Tull and 88 Toon are the voices of reason and sanity...put simply keep losing and better chance to WIN a QB come draft day Sorry to say the same misguided group who thought that a win against KC was like a playoff victory are still in operation here ...listen the team situation is well beyond gaining a dumb victory and forfeiting the future ...i hope more people get this So much negativity and sarcasm here...K'ob your post is scary lol
Just comical to not root for Petty, I don't understand the logic. There's a good possibility he may make a good showing and impress. This game will make for more arguments as to who the Jets should draft, why? Because if Petty has a great game and the Jets win (which can be very possible), then the debate begins what to do with the QB situation. If Petty bombs out, then then of course it's pretty much a no-brainer. I know I'm spitting in the wind but if Petty has a good showing these last 2 games he, imo, can make the Jets a winning/viable playoff contending team if he has some support behind him. Like a legitimate full time starting running back to take pressure off the passing game and at least 1 more wide game breaking receiver, and some more OL help. But that's another topic. Jets will have no shot at the top QB's any way ( another debatable topic) , unless they trade up, and that will be some price to pay.
Hope we get a great QB in the draft too, but a lot could change before the draft. Mac might target one of the quarterbacks in Minnesota, or maybe trade for Andrew Luck. If any of those happen then Mac will go offensive line in the first.
The only thing a very strong showing by Petty over the next two weeks will do is totally piss off the "Petty sucks" bunch, forcing them to further rationalize the premise that he does suck. His faith has been pre ordained by our CS and most Jet fans. He is a bust and no further proof is needed. On to the next draft bust we go. PS...any one watch Hundley poor performance yesterday behind arguably a better all around team. Yep, its tough to find the right guy.
Petty wont be on the roster next year since they wont keep four QBs. He is auditioning for another team these next two games. My guess is the CFL.
