I'd rather draft our own good RB.

Short term, I think so. Give Darnold as many weapons as possible to assist his growth.

You just might have something there.. We're already in pretty good shape RB wise now and there's barely enough ball to share between them. Not real sure I'd upset the balance we have. Then again, its only been one game. If Crowell and Powell continue the way they're running now, I still might have to pass on Bell. Before Martin, who did we have at RB?

As much as I’d like to believe that Crowell and Powell could be great for us over 16 games, it’s hard to believe it to be likely versus what Bell has proven he is. It’s a tough decision but Bell has proven to be elite.

When asked about $60M in cash.... This guy should go take a hike.

Totally agree you can find good backs in the second third and fourth rounds if we’re going to spend money with our salary cap next year please spend it on offense line ,edge rusher, And a wideout.... that would be my priority ......Also let’s see what Maguire brings to the table when he comes back

Let the Steelers f____ him over some more until he finally agrees to show up for the 10th week. Jeez. I am glad we don't treat our players that way.

How are the Steelers f’ing him over? He has a contract and they have no obligation to give him more money, just as he has no obligation to play and give up the money owed to him. I’m not sure what exactly you are arguing the Steelers are doing that the Jets don’t do.

Le’Veon grew up a die hard Jets fan.

For some reason people thinks this makes him want to play for the Jets. I’m pretty sure following this team closely for 20 years would make anyone LESS likely to want to play for it lol.

Yeah, that shit ain’t happening. The reality for Bell is no team is going to value him as much as the team that will likely decline upon his departure. And if that team ain’t paying him no team is going to break the bank like that for him.

Because they ran him into the ground on a rookie contract and then tagged him. what, three separate times! They don't have any plans to sign him after a certain amount of usage. If they don't want him then trade him like the Raiders did Mack. The rest of the NFL PA doesn't care about the use of franchises tagging because it affects what, 5 percent of the players. But it's still a shitty way to control a player who wants a long term contract and more long term guaranteed money.

Or maybe he is thinking otherwise after watching the Steelers tie the browns and Ben Roethlisberger throw 3 interceptions

Jets started to follow Bell on Instagram...

I'd be 100% for this move. The trade would likely be a third. The main reason the Steelers wont rescind the tag, is because they'll get a 3rd round comp pick if he goes to free agency. They'd lose that if they release him.

Crowell and Powell looked great Monday, but let's get serious. Bell is a top back and can do everything.

The challenge with a trade is the jets cant sign him to a new deal. They can pay him more than the tag, but cant extend. They'd have to tag him again at end of year and then negotiate a deal.

    Let's see what happens.

I don't disagree with this trade at all if it happens.

I love Crowell and Powell, but the amount of talent Bell would give this offense is off the charts. He is arguably the best running back in the league and adds an entirely new dimension to this offense. With a rookie QB developing, having a running back like Bell would do wonders for Darnold. He is an easy check down that is incredible with the ball in his hands.

The only downside would be the potential locker room issues if he brings baggage with him, but we have the money and we have the need for playmakers

I would imagine Parcells' decision to get Curtis Martin was easier than Macc's option of attempting a trade for Bell.

It will be interesting to see how the Steelers play this. Conner is getting run 30 times a game now. Who knows how long he will hold up? They may be holding onto Bell for later in the season.

Bell got paid for those years. And paid well. He could have held out and demanded a long term deal, as he is doing now, but he didn’t. I just don’t buy any interpretation of those events as the Steelers doing anything to Bell when he had the same options then as he does now.

Wait till Elijah McGuire comes back, he will be very good behind this zone blocking scheme. We need to give our young players a chance to develope and produce for the Jets.

No to Bell, Mac needs to keep his assets and use them on OL and OLB.
