While I still think Vince Young is going to amount to nothing really special, but I hope he succeeds so that Merrill Hodge's head explodes.
Cutler showed his rookie mistakes in trying to make too many big plays. I think he will be like this the rest of his career. It's too early to judge, but I hated him coming out of college, especially as a first rounder. Way overrated prospect. No need to say sorry yet, really when it's their rookie season because Young could still flop.
I didn't read the posts but still have a bit to say. All apple iggies to those who that kind of thing matters to. The 2 guys I wanted going into last years draft were, in order, Young and D Williams. We got neither but what we did get was to 7-5 in Dec. and I will take that any day over whatever is being done by any one player in the league. GO JETS!!
Look for all we know Vince can turn into the bust that I think he will be... BUT. As of right now, he has amazed myself and many others. I'm not saying he still won't be a bust, i'll stick to my guns. But from me saying he wouldn't be an effective QB for at least another 2 years, he'll have to sit for 2 years, change his mechanics and adapt a pro-style offense...He shocked me. To the Vinny guy, that has absolutely no relevance to the thread.
I am thrilled with Brick, and especially Mangold. Those that know me on this board know I am a OL and DL hawk. And I wouldn't do it over if I could. However, I would have been just as happy with Young.
Likewise. Both are playing like 5 year veterans...I'm still going to say I wanted Leinart at 4, but D'Brickashaw is playing wonderful and justifying his selection.
i will stop when i'm ahead as soon as YOU learn the correct usage of you are as opposed to your. game-set-match
well, actually it's spelled grammar, but why do i have to be held accountable for that guy's illiteracy???
I couldn't figure out those QBs. I was changing my mind on them every week between autumn 2005 and the 2006 draft. Now I think I'd rank them Young, then Leinart, and then Cutler. I wanted D'Brickashaw Ferguson in the draft and Joseph Addai. Instead of Addai, they went the Mangold route, which I thought was good, too.
