Maybe a few Pubs to wash it all down after? If you care to name any? Nice. Thanks. I have been to NYC before, but it was always a bus tour in large groups. Nothing where it is just me on my time.
Take a cab from Little Italy over to McSorley's. It's the oldest bar in NYC and quite a landmark. Used to be men only, with cats running around and sawdust on the floor. Then Gloria Steinem ruined it all by burning bras in front of the place, but it's still a kick to go there and have an ale or two... a lot of history there. If you're into Country music, The Lone Star Cafe' is a show-and-a-half too.
Lone Star Cafe? You're referring to a Broadway play, perhaps? I know the place I saw countless concerts at on 13th st hasn't been around in about 20yrs.
Okay, The Lone Star isn't around anymore. Too bad too, because you can't even hear country music on the radio in NYC anymore. But I still think McSorley's is a good place for an out-of-towner to go. Soho has some pretty neat places too.
