How about that DeWayne Robertson? - Merged

Whats goin on with this kid, I mean is it the fact that he is a rookie or wat because his pass protection has not been so great throughout the season. He got owned today by schobel, wasnt doin to great against mario, i cant really remember any other games. I mean schobel is a good de but he isnt a julius peppers i saw a bunch of replays and schobel would do one move and get by him easily. I hope that its just cuz he is a rookie. I think thats what it is anyway, he needs to rely more on technique rather than ?athletism?

1st off, take out the "whats goin on with this kid." He had 1 pathetic game, and Aaron Schobel backed up his words on D'Brickashaw.

He had a bad game, prior to today, he had given up 1 sack. God forbid a rookie have a bad game...

Exactly.. don't base your judegements off of one game. Schobel is not a bad DE and he made some plays today. Chad seemed to have a lot of time today in the pocket but he never found anyone down field. Take that into account when criticizing hte o-line

  4. This was Brick's worst performance as a pro thus far.

But let's keep in mind that he's had many more good games. This is obviously the December "rookie wall" for him. It's something we shouldve expected considering the premium position he plays and the match-ups he is presented w/..unfortunately it's happening during a potential playoff run.

You guys amaze me. DeWayne Robertson had 3 times as many bad games than good ones in his career and you want to fry this kid?

At least he didn't cost 3 picks!

His pass protection has not been bad all year. One thing I hate about this board is people exaggerate everything, both positively and negatively. He's had a good season, he did not have a good game today.

A rookie tackle is one of the toughest position to start in the NFL. It's late in the season and week after week he has to battle it out physically and mentally. This game will just make him better and lets wait till next year. Give him a chance to bulk up this off season. He will be one of the best OL the Jets ever had when all is said and done.

D'Bust has been playing so great! Great pick!

He better shape up, he's supposed to be so great, well I'm not seeing it. I don't care if he's a rookie. If you are taken #4 overall you better be effective immediately.

what if your team traded 2 first round picks AND a 4th round pic to draft you?

Before today, he had been playing very well for a rookie. Maybe if you stopped jerking off to any running back with speed for about two seconds, you'd of realized.

Interesting phenomenon here, the Chaddites are filled with great anger after todays loss(justifiably so) so they have to lash out at other players since they're incapable of placing any blame at their heros feet. Who's next on the chopping block when Chad screws up again? Mangold?

Are you serious? Are you freaking serious?

He's been a great pick, couldn't really ask for anything more. He has lived up to his 4th overall selection, and has clearly been one of the best LTs in the NFL this year, he had a bad game, a very bad game. Walter Jones got dominated by Alex Brown earlier, so what? D'Brickashaw will be a stalwart on the left side for the next 10 years...He's been effective immediately and you want to try this?

Go keep whacking off to trading up for Reggie Bush. D'Brickashaw has shut me up since I wanted Leinart so bad, don't be so naive.

  14. There is a group of people within the Jets fan base that will give ANYTHING to label a 1st round draft by us as a bust. Looks like Brick is no exception, and you're prolly right..Mangold is next.

I didn't want to trade up, I wanted to trade down.

And that great pick almost got chad killed against Houston, and again today.

I admit that I am overreacting, I know D'Brick was really not a bad pick at all. I'm just really, really pissed off right now.

Please, you were creaming your pants for Reggie Bush.

Ok, you admitted you're overreacting, that was obvious. He's been everything the Jets could ask for with the 4th overall pick.

He has been good most of the season...today was the worst I have seen him. Funny how well he handled taylor and freeney and seymour but had all that trouble with Denney. He's not the reason we lost thought but I bet he feels dominated right now because that guy made him look bad.

during the game, the reporters stated the jets need someone who can carry this team rather than leading on chad all the time, they need a playmaker. Now i have always believed him but i dont see what we could do or would do i mean cotch and coles are a great pair and houston and leon could be great. I mean i dont see them drafting any offensive skill players this year to tell u the truth. And we need a dynamic pass rusher, hmm o wait we just resigned bryan thomas.

Some of you need to stop acting retarted after losses really. He's been great all season. He just had a tough game today. It was bound to happen. But to tell you the truth I dont think today he played like really bad but it wasnt his best game. The 2 sacks at the end he allowed werent really his fault. And when Chad got hit and fumbled he has to realize that the O-line cant protect him forever on that one. But on D'Brick he'll be fine. When all is said and done I think he'll be one of the best LT's ever to play in the NFL.
