I like our chances next year with pennington. Having a year under his belt in this very complicated systen is going to be huge, and of course if this things dont work out you got clemens who is the future of the franchise.

People saying we should draft troy smith or brohm.. lets not forget that some experts were saying clemens was the best qb talent in the draft last year.

I like smith, but he's not going in the first round. If he does, i'll pull up a chair next to sundayjack and chew on some paperclips. Most think he's going to measure out at 5'11 and sadly that kicks him into the mid 2nd.

I dont think Chad necessarily Shrinks whem he is under pressure rather he can not throw the ball with any zip when hes being flushed out of the pocket and has to throw on the run. For him to throw the ball accurate and with some zip on it he has to set his feet, which you dont always have time for.

It's just shocking and difficult to deal with him throwing this many picks... that's my main problem.

QB's with decent defenses that throw as many picks as they do TDs, with a hodge podge running game just don't get into the playoffs in the NFL.

That's basically the long and short of it. He needs to play mistake free for the rest of the season and the Jets can still make the playoffs, but I don't think they're going to win the next three games, they'll drop one.

Why is it NYJ fans strive for mediocrity??? Is it that engrained in 90% of you? Think about this, would you even be talking about Chad's future if that team were to say have 1-3 wins as every so called expert predicted? No there would be threads about Chad is close to 100%, hope in 07, etc, there mere fact that Jets are fighting to get into the playoffs thanks in most part to Chad is overlooked so much its sickening, I mean seriously where would the NYJ be with a rookie QB or god forbid Patrick Ramsey. For the love of god, just enjoy a great year by an up and comming team. Chad has proven he can lead this team deep into the playoffs, but Chad cannot do it all by himself, let the HC and front office build this team and let Chad manage the game and we will be contending for a SB in a year or 2.

Smith is 5'11 tops, did you see the Heisman ceremony? Quinn looked like a giant next to Smith and he's between 6'2 and 6'3

Plus I think he is a system guy, great OL, top flight WR, great defense, I question his worth in the pros.

Clemens is the heir apparent, but not next season.

Chad should be done after this season no matter what happens. We need somebody who can win a game when the rest of the team does not play well. Keeping Chad as our starting QB would be accepting Mediocrity! What does that say about our team when we accept the fact that if we get down by ten points our QB can not bring us back!

It's been all year not just the bills game. Every team seems to know he sucks except us.

Everybody knows he s**ks except Jet fans. They Kill him everyplace else but here. Chris Carter a Future Hall of Fame receiver can't even keep a straight face when he talks about Chad on Inside the Nfl. It like they all smirk whenever his name comes up.

The Jets won't start Clemens as long as our playoff chances are alive. Chad has played well in big games maybe not that much this year but years before.

Chad is finally playing the entire season and with three games left he has led the Jets to a playoff push.
Also you can't judge Chad off this Bills game, he had ZERO time to throw the ball.

It's funny because people used to wonder about Pennington too.

    "Why isn't he playing yet"

"He must not be developing fast enough"

    "He must be a bust"

    Etc etc..

I think we need to give the kid a chance, but when that will be...who knows?

Exactly. Chad will continue to run this offense until 2008. By then, Kellen will take over the wheel in his third year a la Rivers in San Diego

Wow you need to think for yourself, because collge listings are made to help their stock. Once he's measured at the combine you'll see he's no taller than 5'11.

If Chad blows up.. Look for open comitition next yr and chances are he will remain our qb.. He is above avarage and needs a deep supporting cast to take us all the way. Rember Chad is part of a solution not the solution.
