If the NFL wants its network to be put on basic cable or wants more people to subscribe they should stop showing their games on local stations...

what does that mean Brooks Brady? NFL games should not be shown on channel 2 and 5 on the weekend? I don't understand. I get channel 2 and 5on basic cable.

Change the title of this thread and show some love for Time Warner subscribers too.

Yep...anyone else notice they decide to give away the "free week" the week that Rutgers is playing in its bowl game, which is going to be on NFL Network?

    Smart play by them

Anybody who gives the Dolans money doesn't deserve the NFL network.

The NFL Network isn't helping things either. They want to be paid like a premium station.

I think we'll end up with the same outcome as the YES Network.

Although I dislike Dolan he said the reason he wont carry the NFL network on Cablevision is becasue of the outreagous fee the company would have to pay.

Dolan is a hypocrit though. It took him forever to sell HD MSG and HD FSNY to DirecTV (don't even know if that's done yet), and he did the exact same thing with his channels with Time Warner.

Simply put, NFLN wants to be on the expanded basic tier (meaning many more subscribers) and Dolan wants them to be an ala-carte station.

I don't see much movement here. Once that Cowboys game is missed by all the cowboys fans in this area, there will be an uproar.

I think its just going to get worse when the saturday night games are on the nfl network. The nfl is counting on the fans to get pissed off and call the cable company. If you guys want the channel make sure you call your cable company and complain.

If you live in the area, you get the game on your local station.. It's the folks like us NYers who can't see the games in other cities.

Currently, the games on NFL Network, which no one here can watch, are shown in regions where their teams are playing. For example, Dallas vs. Atlanta on Saturday will be shown on a local station in those two cities. The Giants game next Saturday will be shown on Channel 4.

What I was trying to say was that if the NFL wants its network to be picked up by companies for basic cable (which includes ESPN, CNN, COmedy Central, etc.) or wants more subscribers, then it should not allow its games to be shown on local channels in the teams' regions. That would put more pressure on the people to subscribe or the cable companies to add it to their lineups. I don't think anyone here cares about a game like Cleveland vs. Pittsburgh to get NFL Network. If, for example, the Jets played a game on that network, and it wasn't shown on a local channel, the NFL would have much more leverage with the cable companies.

I can watch them as can anyone who has DirecTV or Dish TV or if your local cable company came to terms with NFLN. Since I can see those games you should amend your post from nobody to you as presently your post is incorrect
