Well you do the math you get 17 weeks for $200.00 vs what I posted as my cost when I was going to the games. Now add on the wear/tear of the car, frustration of driving, traffic jams etc, etc & I think I see where he is coming from. Naturally there are those who will argue that something is lost in watching us on DirectV vs being there live & in person.

Then give up your seats. I have been going for 26 years and have four seats so do the math on that. I happen to love the game ,the experience, and the Jets. I started going with my father when I was young, then my brother , and now I go with my sons and it has become a great family tradition that I wouldn't trade. After 26 years, I find going to the games so far superior to watching at home on television that I get frustrated at home. So if you don't think it is worth it then give up your seats and buy a nice big Plasma TV instead and enjoy the game from home.

One has to eat anyway, is that necessarily considered an expense due to going to the game?

Why should tailgating even be in the equation?
The JETS aren't forcing you to do it. That's a choice and the way some guys tailgate, it's stupid.
When you show up Middle of the 1st Q, drunk off your ass you don't deserve season Tix.

Also, Parking is $15 and what toll charges you $10 each way??
IMO, you inflated the numbers to make a point.

    Let's see:

    My seats are $65 so that's $650x2= $1300
    + $15 parkingx10= $150

    $1450

Season tickets are becoming more expensive each year. I think what the original poster is trying to get across the fact that having the Tickets makes you think about the added expenses that things related to the game costs you. I know that in many instances ticket holders that actully attend the games regularly tailgate not only because it is fun, but because you get more "enjoyment" out of the whole experience.

For Me., I know that I can Hang out in the parking lot for a few hours and have some laughs before watching a game that can be a blowout making it a little more bearable in relation to the time and money spent on that particular game.

It's a good thing that you are able to take vacations every week the Jets play now, so as to avoid that big financial hit of actually going to the game! :)

Yes it is cause it is much easier to click on DirectV then the hassle of driving etc & etc.

I am looking forward to next year when we play Dallas so I can again see them in person. The year after they play in New Orleans so I will go there also. Based on where we & Houston finish we could play here also. I may also take a trip up to KC when we play there to see the brain vs the dummy

Remember I now reside some many miles from the M/lands & until I feel we have a dominant D I would noy consider going up there to see a game in person

You forgot to add some other costs:

-Pocket change to throw in the pits at halftime.

-Lost game watching time due to coming into stadium late in 1st QTR and leaving early in the 4th QTR.

-Lost game watching time due to waiting on concession line to purchase beer.

-Lost game watching time due to drinking beer and smoking out on the ramps.

-Lost game watching time due to waiting on bathroom line to process beer.

***Lets not forget any legal fees involved in resolving DUI/DWI citations or the annual brawl in the stands/parking lot.

Im 19 years old, in college and work a job to have enough money for:

    1) Jets season Tickets
    2) My car

those are the only things i care where my money goes too so its well worth it for me
