Bryan Thomas OLB in 3-4

Discussion in 'New York Jets' started by Pennington2Moss, Mar 8, 2006.

  1. BT could be a Willie McGinest type player at OLB(the key word could). I recall watching him in preseason, at OLB when DH was experimenting w/ the 3-4, and him really standing OT's up and doing some damage.

I'm not sure if he has the ability to cover people, but in terms of pass rushing and stopping the run, he is an exciting possibility in the 3-4. We shall see.

I wouldn't feel comfortable with Thomas in space.....unless he is surprisingly nimble...

I don't get it, how can he run a 4.47 and not show that speed on the field?

I don't see Thomas as anything more then depth for a year, and then I see him walking out the front gate. He had the talent (although not first round talent), but it never translated for whatever reason.

    close, but not quite.

If we do get McGinest i think it will be like this.

    McGines, Vilma, Barton, Hobson
    Robertson, NT (possibly washington), Ellis
