I am a HUGE fan of this coaching staff. I could write pages about why Mangini is and will be so good. I think Chad is a lot better (with obvious warts) than people are giving him credit for. But, as a fan of this team since my first game in 1974, I find it hard to believe that you are all making flight/train plans to Indy or NE just yet. Here are just a few late season disasters, in years that we were competitive. (In other words, I didnt look at losing seasons). 1991 Loss to 6-10 NE in Game 15 1993 Loss to 3-13 Colts in Game 12 1997 Loss to 3-13 Colts in Game 14 2000 Loss to 9-7 (but awful) Lions in Game 15 2001 Loss to 3-13 Bills in Game 15 2002 Loss to 4-12 Bears in Game 14 Jets in 1981 Lost 2x to the 6-10 Seahawks. And although we stunk, in 1980 Jets lost to the 1-15 'Aints in Game 15, 21-20. (I can still see Richard Todd running off the field after that one). I agree with the poster that said -- we need to prepare for the Raiders like they are the 75 Steelers. If we let them hang around in this one -- or worse, score on defense (or with a short field) -- it could be the worst Jet loss ever.
Not this time around. We will win this comming game. New attitude, new coach,a winning drive . These Jets believe and so do I.
I don't see how the Jets could fail to show up and win against the Raiders next week. They're at home. They're the better team. They'd be humiliated by a loss. That's 3 very strong factors suggesting the Jet's A game will be on display.
Dude, What happened in the past has no affect on the future..Are you kidding, a chance to make the playoffs after all the EXPERTs were putting Brady Quinn in a Jet uniform next August..They (Jets) will not only be prepared, they will shut out the Raiders..Hell the Raiders might have a hard time getting 45 guys on the plane New Years Eve. THERE playing for Brady Quinn, anyone with the smallest tweak is staying home for the Raiders!!
None of those games were against a dead team in a season finale with a playoff spot on the line for the Jets.
