Simple poll I will run after the remaining games to see the consistency of people.

This is after his 14/29, 231, 1 TD, 0 INT performance against Miami.

Yes, I think his shoulder will get stronger this offseason and we will add a playmaker to this offense that will make him look even better.

As long as he's healthy I want him as our QB and as long as he's healthy he will be our QB. That wasa gutty effort against Miami and he helped us win again, w/o Chad this year we might have 4 wins.

This is baseless speculation and you repeat it in every thread. I thought you dealt in facts?

What kind of criticism is that? Its certainly speculation -- but not baseless. The history of this team in the last 4+ years is that they struggle without Chad. Do you think that Patrick Ramsey and Chad are interchangeable that the Jets would be exactly where they are now with PR at the help. THATS baseless speculation.

The proof is the Jets record w/ and w/o him the past 5 years. We go from a kick away from the AFC Title game in '04 to a team expected to make a deep run in '05 only to go 4-12 after Chad gets hurt then he returns and we are supposed to be a 3-4 win team and we wil likely end up w/ 10 wins. It's really not that difficult to figure out.

Yes. Theres a lot more that can be done for this offense around Chad to make everything work better.

The Jets won 4 games last year with Vinny off the couch and Brooks Bollinger starting in addition to a ton of injuries besides the QB position. The Jets have more talent this year at the positions other then QB this year as well(or better utilized talent, take your pick) and an easier schedule then last year to boot.

So what exactly makes you think the Jets would've won 4 games again with Ramsey or Clemens at QB?

I have no problem with going along with Chad. As long as we keep structuring the team to be exceptional around doing everything else except throwing 45 yard bullets. We can win with this combination.

Chad has to do all the other stuff he does well, though. Any noticeable falloff and he becomes replaceable or backup QB material. He has to take care of himself, too. He must continue to get stronger. Not that I ever think he will throw like Favre or Elway, but in order to be at his best, Chad must continue to strive to be in the best possible physical condition he can be.

I still think he can strengthen the shoulder. It may look totally healed, but I am sure it still could be better.

I am not complaining. I will take this year on face value as a much needed and welcomed surprise. We earned it, and what a relief to know we finally have a very good coach at the helm of our team.

The thing is with Pennington and the Jets with and without him is that he USED to be a great quarterback that'd you want leading a team. He didn't have the arm strength, but he could still zip the short passes in and make the long pass when he needed it. Two shoulder surgeries later, he can't do it. If Pennington didn't get those surgeries, these threads and polls wouldn't be necessary. He has the smarts, for the most part, and the leadership necessary, but he is too physically incapable of making the throws that win games.

Chad had 4 great games this year statistically, and the first NE game it was mostly because we played in catchup mode, and his arm strength has gotten worse each game, he needs to get better with his decision making before I'd want to see him as the QB for a long period of time

I voted "no" because I wouldn't want to name ANY starter for the next three years, period. I like Mangini's approach. Positions should be open for competition. Things change every year; abilities diminish and improve. The best guy starts.

We still lost PB caliber players like Abe, Curtis, Mawae and law in addition to others, the one constant on o from the playoff years was Chad and miraculously he comes back healthy and we are a playoff team again. Every other part has changed since 2002. Coles has come and gone, Cotch wasn't here in '02, Baker didn't play much, Moore & kendall were around for '04 not '02, Houston/Washington/barlow weren't around, Askew was a bit player in '04. The ONLY constant is Chad and he's the reason we have won so many games.

Not unless his arm gets stronger if not hopefully next year Clemens can be what Jay Cutler is for Denver and still lead us into the playoffs

Martin was horrible last year, Mawae was out for most of the year and Law was a non factor. If you want to say the Jets probably wouldn't have 9 wins now without Chad that's reasonable, but to say that they would win 4 again is absurd.

Healthy those guys are top players and we lost them, remember we were supposed to be a SB contender last year before all the injuries.

Law had 10 int. Not exactly a non factor.

3 more years of Good Chad/Bad Chad? No thanks I'll pass. I'm happy that Chad finally has played an entire season since that was his biggest hurdle. What I've seen this year is a tale of two Qb's and that's disturbing. I still see an occasional duck come flying high out of the backfield and I see our WR's paying the price for trying to catch them. I also see a Qb that can, occasionally, throw down the middle of the field deep. I see a Qb that probably is the finished product at this point in his career. No more revelations or surprises. Chad is who and what Chad is. Now can I live with that another 3 years? Probably not. Another year to prep Clemens? Sure.

There's been alot more good than bad, we seem to win alot more often than not when Chad starts and it's about winning not fantasy stats.
