Regardless of the outcome of this Raiders game, Chad P will be competing for the QB 1 position with the Jets, starting in the offseason..
Actually he will end their season. To me that's the irony, not that it's a big game late in the year, it's the last game. Win and in, vs Oakland. This time at home instead of out there, vs a bottom feeder Oakland instead of the Super Bowl Oakland. Complete reversal of situation for them, with the Jets back where they were.
Nicely done! And we won behind a comeback from Chad, to boot. You have to forgive champ for being confused--he only watches wins but somehow only remembers losses.
No...You are wrong. Admit it. YOU ARE WRONG! November 9, 2003 http://www.nfl.com/gamecenter/recap/NFL_20031109_NYJ@OAK
hmy: hmy: Happy holidays to you, champ. Go Jets. Since you remember the game and most of us don't, tell me what you remember about the Oakland-Jets AFL Championship game at Shea Stadium, where the Jets earned the right to play in Super Bowl III. All I remember reading is that is was cold and Joe Namath hit Don Maynard for the GW TD late. Or Allentown Ernie or anyone else who saw it. Peace.
Gentlemen, as I read these posts I shake my head in amazement at the football knowledge and the memories of the " professional posters" my term for you guys with thousands of posts. I sure hope we get even with the Raiders on Sunday. If we win Chad will have led us into the promised land. I can't wait for our guys to kick ass. Allentown Ernie.
Well if that game was a NFL game it would have gone down as a all time classic. But it being a all AFL game it is relegated to just a footnote in history. JWN had put the NYJs ahead in the 4th qtr but here came the Raiiders right back & they were around our 20 yd line. The pass attempted was ruled a lateral after being fumbled by them which we recovered & that is how we won & earned the SB berth. It was cold & windy there so it is possible that the Raider pass was blewn backward by the wind. The pass from JWN to DM was a thing of beauty but the wind was in our back when JWN threw it. It was one of the MOST exciting NYJ games I have seen to this day. I was hoarse for several days after the game from all the yelling I did that day. My friend & I were so excited cause the bathrooms were jammed after the game that we just left the stadium & stopped the car on the NJ Tpke to do our business from all the hot cocoa we drunk that day. Hope this helps you Someday maybe I will assemble the papers I have from the day after the that game & post what the beat writers wrote about that game Happy Holidays to you as well thanks
Gents, I can't answer that question, I have " sometimers disease", sometimes I remember and sometimes I don't." However I know I saw the game because in those days there was little government regulation of the cable companies and our cable used to put as many football games on T.V. as they felt like. We would get Eagles, Jets, Giants and other games put on basic cable without payind anything extra. Man, thoe were the good old days. Go Jets. Allentown Ernie.
