Ability to keep the defense out of the backfield is all that matters. It's obvious the present guys cannot do it - whether they lack the talent or they're confused by the schemes is up to the coaches to fix. Put a Harry Truman sign on every guy's locker "The Buck Stops Here." It's great that the Jets are striving to have the highest character in the league, but that never shows up on the scoreboard. If the guy shows up and puts up that's good enough. If he screws up he's gone.
It doesn't even make sense that the pass blocking schemes are too difficult. I don't doubt that the excuse has been parroted by certain players or whomever but it simply doesn't make sense.
He stole his bonus check and then checked out. How he didn't manage to get kicked off the Georgia team escapes me. He'll be caught going 120 MPH in a Ferrari or some other car within a month of being signed.
He should go to New England and play with the other tackle from Georgia that almost has the same name and dominate.
I'd rather try to trade for Laurent Duvernay-Tardiff. The Chiefs we're shopping him at the beginning of the season after he lost his starting spot to Trey Smith. Is he an upgrade over GVR? I honestly have no idea but he also can't be much worse. If he can be had for a conditional 6th/7th? Why not?
You say that like it is a bad thing lol I once managed 127mph in one of these... A younger foolish man then The fastest I have gone was 140mph but I was a passenger, again in a car that you wouldn't think of as a speed demon, Ford Scorpio. But the biggest thrill was in a souped-up Vauxhall Nova, it had a 2 litre engine shoehorned under the bonnet, it was like a rocket ship, again a passenger at 135mph it felt like 200mph, it was quite terrifying tbh Something like this lol Anyway don't mind me and my memories carry on
Maybe now that he released his rap album, he's ready to play! All joking aside, this coaching staff doesn't strike me as "reclamation" specialists with damaged goods. After watching the offense they've coached for the last 3-4 months, this dude would take two years to catch up.
I had a '77 Monza that I hit 140 in a few times, I was pulling sub 10 second 1/4s in it for like 3 months.
JD should at least kick the tires on this one. Lamp definitely isn’t an all-star but I’m all for bringing in whoever. If he doesn’t work out, just cut him and move on. He can’t be that much worse than GVR has been.
