Adam Schefter on NFL Total Access just reported that there are TWO DEALS on the table with Minnesota for Daunte Culpepper, and the two teams in particular that he mentioned were the Dolphins and Jets. Just thought I'd pass it along. Hopefully it isn't an offer from us, I wouldn't touch Culpepper.
hmy:NOOOOOOOO. . I finally put my faith in the Jets front office and i have to hear this. I still have faith in Mike T but i dont want any part of Daunte
Me neither. All we need is another injuried QB on the roster. Besides, I thought we were getting Ramsey for a 5th???
Its not final but I dont want Ramsey or Culpepper. But I would rather have Ramsey for what we would be giving up
What I don't understand about this is...why don't we just draft Vince Young if we want someone like Daunte? Vince is younger, healthier and probably more dedicated to football...This would be a big suprise...
It depends on what we are trading away, Minnesota is desperate to get rid of him so we may get him for cheap
But what would we have to give up for him. He shredded his knee and still hasnt proven he can be the same qb without a big time wr
And he throws way too many INT's and fumbles constantly. I think a few years ago he set the NFL record in fumbles.
There is no question Daunte could be could, but that knee injury he suffered was not minor...it was a willis McGahee injury...we see how well he has done, but Daunte also has a questionable off field life...I don't like it.
2002 he fumbled a butt load of times...he hasn't been nearly as bad as he was that year though. At least I think he hasn't.
If we can get Culpepper for a 3rd rounder I think you have to consider it, but after saying that...I doubt we could get him that cheap...I am not crazy about the idea either.
With all the possible teams puruing him i think its almost safe to assume he wont go cheap but not too expensive
