Just a friendly reminder that Gonzaga has not played a nationally ranked team that isn't named St. Mary's since December 18, 2021.
Ha. I havent really followed basketball at all this year (sans a game here or there), but will definitely be "working" with the TV on starting tommorrow
I live in Tucson and after all the BS Arizona went through with Miller at the wheel it is nice to see the Cats back in the tournament. Missed in 2019 due to cancellation and self sanction last year so it has been a long two years. Should be a great tournament this year. I love the first weekend of the tournament.

I have a friend that was the starting point guard for William & Mary (early 90s).... so obviously a huge BBall fan. Well into his 20s (and prob early 30s) he and some old bball friends would meet up in Vegas for the 1st 2 days of the tourney and sit in the sportsbook all day like degenerates drinking on the house placing minor bets while watching all the games.. once his 1st kid was born, his wife put a stop to that
I've heard Vegas this weekend is one of the greatest things in the world. I've been dying to get out there for the first weekend. Like you said, prob gotta do it before the 1st kid is born though LOL
Getting my clock cleaned; lost Iowa from my Final Four already. That's just in brackets - Caesar's and Draft Kings taking a toll as well. Only good thing going is St. Peters is playing Kentucky very close, I may get to takeover going forward in one of my pools vs. the spread. Strange thing is that one of my teams in that pool is Colgate and their game against Wisconsin tomorrow is the only first round game not open on DK or Caesar's - wonder why?
Hah! Kentucky chokes and I have now lost my second Final Four team in the first round. I had them going to the championship game.
Got 6 out of 12 so far, doing much better than I usually do. All 4 of my Final 4 teams are still alive at least.
Who had St. Peter's making it to the Sweet 16? No team seeded lower than #12 has ever made it to the Elite 8, but they'll get their shot against either Texas or Purdue next week.
I liked them enough to get a five to one payout today on the moneyline. But that was mainly because I drew them as one of my teams in a knockout pool and decided to up the ante a bit. I need them to beat the spread on Friday to get to the payoff level. My better call was North Carolina winning but I didn't cash in on that.
Incoming get off my lawn statement. I'll watch NCAA sports once they hold the refs to one ounce of accountability. The T on the Illinois dunk was a momentum killer. They ref the game like they are teaching lessons to the kids, but then won't even talk to the player who wants an explanation... It's terrible. Just ref the game normally, and show the college students a little respect. For the record, I heard this play on a 5 min drive listening to WFAN. 5 minutes of NCAA basketball and it happens. I don't belong here, it just drives me mad when refs act bigger than the game
I was pulling hard for Texas last night because I don't think they have any shot vs Purdue. Way too much fire power on that team
I wonder if sports fans will EVER stop falling for the media-created fallacy that is Gonzaga basketball. It comes to no surprise to me that they lost against the first nationally ranked team they faced in the tournament. This is a team that has not played a game against a nationally ranked opponent that was not names "St. Mary's" since December 18. When will this joke end?
Not only a shot against Purdue, but a win! I will be rooting hard for St. Peter's against either UCLA or UNC on Sunday.
