What attitude Sean? Been to a Pats board lately? 20 threads about going to Baltimore or San Diego. 99% Jets fans here know this is going to be a tough game. 99% of Pats fans think the Jets will be killed. Your post smacks of arrogance. You Pats fans, (DW excluded) are acting like a bunch of pompous a****. Like I said before, Boston fans got all riled up when yankees fans would talk smack about their 26 rings, and now look at what you have become.
So true. So sad, so true. The passing of the AFC East torch shall be passed to the Jets at 4:00 tomorrow.
I'd like to know what specific games he worked. Did he work the Browns at Bengals game? Lions at Jets? Texans at Colts? My point is he may have worked the highest percentage of crap team at playoff team/near playoff team type of games. This could be why he has that 73% number next to his name. I don't remember exactly what games he worked. I do remember being impressed with this referee. He has been good when I've seen him. He's in his 6th year as a referee.
There are a couple of checkdowns I'd want to do on the data before I was convinced there might be an issue: 1. In all games not worked by that crew what were the records of the teams they referee'd? In other words did they work a lot of the kind of game you specified above? 2. What were the penalty tendencies of the teams involved? Did they catch the Raiders and their ilk on the road a lot and the Jets and their ilk at home? I can't believe that a fundamentally sound team like the Jets, who rarely take penalties, is going to have any problem at all with bad calls out of any crew. That said, there is the possibility of a call like the Chris Baker non-TD in Cleveland deciding the game. The answer for that one is that the Jets have to clearly win the game and not rely on a miracle at the end. This is true regardless of who is officiating.
Guy, you're the one posting rhetoric..I've read your posts there kettle. I have always been respectful on this board. I pointed out subjective facts about the officiating crew and you accuse me of pulling out the "ref card." My point about the "attitude" is in reference to all of the hedging I've seen. "This is a no lose situation for the Jets"..."Belichick has everything to lose." It's as if the Jets have nothing to lose...You think they feel that way??? You don't think they'll feel crusehed if they walk out of that stadium after just realizing an abrupt end to their terrific season...My point is that they better realize the stakes and not approach this as gravy to a successful regualr season as a lo of posters on this board have...
So, please show me one post I said the Jets will win. Can't do it can you? I might have said they have a shot, but never once did I declare victory and buy my tickets to SD. There is more pressure on the Pats. Everyone expects them to win. Nobody really thinks the Jets will win. I think you put too much stock in posts on a message board. The game is played on the field, not at TGG. ats_suck:
