Ramsey has never started a full season because he sucks. Culpepper had a massive injury last year. Ramsey is being propped up by the Jet fans because he's about to be acquired by the Jets. The reality is is that this guy is crap. Let's begin by looking at the most important numbers, the passing numbers: Culpepper: 1678/2607 - 64.4%, 20,162 yds, 135 tds, 86 ints, career passer rating 91.5 Ramsey: 480/861 - 55.7%, 5,649 yds, 34 tds, 29 ints, career passer rating 75 Now, onto W/L records when throwing a minimum of one pass in a particular game. Culpepper: 40W - 42L Ramsey: 13W - 20L If you want a more accurate W/L percentage, then do the research and you will find that there are more instances of Ramsey having less than 5 passes than Culpepper. Now let me point out the amount of games each QB did not play in at all, and keep in mind, Ramsey has had a shorter career than Culpepper. Culpepper: 16 No Shows Ramsey: 31 No Shows And as a final point, let me point out an added dimension, that while not very important, could be helpful in certain games: rushing. Culpepper: 454 att, 2,476 yds, 5.5 avg, 29 tds, 185 fds, 34 fums, 13 fums lost Ramsey: 45 att, 83 yds, 1.8 avg, 2 tds, 7 fds, 6 fums, 3 fums lost In conclusion, Culpepper is the far superior QB to Ramsey and here are the numbers to prove it. :deadskins:
ramsey has gotten a raw deal in DC, I said I liked LONG before we were rumored to get him. Obviously the #s will favor daunte b/c he has played alot more and played w/ incredible offensive talent around him. Fantasy wise? Absolutely but I think ramsey can definitely be a better QB than daunte. Daunte is a proven choker and loser, the book on Ramsey has yet to be written.
Look @ my post in the other thread, We actually feel the same... While we agree Ramsey got a raw deal the fact still remains in both their time @ starting QB Culpepper has gotten some things done and ramsey hasn't done Squat. Fantasy wise, reality wise, potential wise and NUMBERS wise Culppeper has outperformed Ramsey.
I'm not saying Patrick is better yet just that i'd rather have him and see what he can do since I know what Daunte can do.
I think he still ahs alot to offer and would not mind him here at all but only is he is cheap. I would give him 2 years and I would not pay him top dollar.
NO WAY in hell I want Daunte Culpepper no matter how cheap the price... He's one of the worst decision makers in all of football... sure he can throw the ball a country mile, but he inevitable will fumble or throw an int in a huge situation... The only reason Culpepper was ANY good was Mr. Randy Moss... I'd take Brooksie even over Culpepper... Hopefully Young or Leinart tho...
Quit smoking crack, Daunte if you look at the numbers is better than Tom Brady TD to INT ratio. Ramsey is a bum and will always be a bum. Sorry, anytime you can get a QB who's big and physical, and has an arm, and has thrown 96 TD the past 2 season you would be a fool not to get him. Forget Brees the 2 yard dump off QB to LT and Gates( we already have Chad the 2 yard great) we need a QB with armstrenght and who can very well run over you. Imagine he can be got for a 2 pick. Pair him up with a big OT pick #4 and them 2 will run over you pick one and if not he's still got that arm baby. This is the way to go if you use a draft pick for a trade. Sorry Ramseys not worth a 2 not even a 5th.
Take a look at how many of those ints (AND his NUMBER ONE ALL TIME FUMBLES PER SNAPS %) blew leads or squelched big comebacks... Daunte CHOKES underpressure... Brady excels... :hackett:
That really poses sort of a moral/ethical dilemma. I mean, if a team contacts a player while that player is under contract, it's tampering. I wonder if a player calling a different team than the one they're contractually obligated to play for and lobby them to trade for him if it could be looked at in the same manner. Self representation or not, it still has a player dealing with a team directly, where certain things can be said that normally couldn't get back to the players. Really wierd. I like Daunte, and behind a better line would certainly help to elevate his game, an expensive back up qb is not exactly a no brainer. We should be hard pressed (if we are going to make a trade) to get a giant fat strong slob to stick into the NT position.
