I feel ya, my plan was to buy another place to fix up after finishing my current place that I bought Oct. 2020. By the time I got done last October finding something that I could make money on was non existent.

He wouldn’t be paying a city tax if he doesn’t live in the city and he only needs to pay state tax on games he plays in state. Incidentally, the highest fed tax is 37%…. #doBetter
As a resident of a state where people who can’t make a good life for themselves and blame the government flock to Florida instead, I can assure you most of them are either old or assholes and none of them are missed.
Nope. Depends on where he lives. IF NJ, no escape. If NY no escaping the very high NY state income tax. Same with Connecticut. Its all about where you spend your time on a daily basis, rather than where your work takes you for a few days. Jets play in NJ, practice in both states. If you live in NY and commute to NJ you are just as screwed.
Cmon dude… think or do some research. Is Tyreek moving to NJ and spending 12 months there? Of course not. His legal residency would still be in Florida…. I know more than one person who spend 6 months and a day on Florida for that reason. But players have a jock tax and have to pay the taxes for the state they play the games. Road game in Cali? Lots of taxes. If you want to understand it better I found this website very helpful. Www.google.com
Nope again. I have house in ny and legal address in Florida. Want to bet i know more about this then you.
Absolutely. You know how to own a house way better than you know the tax rules for athletes. Easiest bet I’ll win all year.
YES, they absolutely did. It's that BLUE STATE BS DEMOCRAT shithole NY that caused us to lose Tyreek Hill......
Taxes and nicer year round weather. Yes, no doubt that was a massive consideration. I really hate snow as it is. Sent from my M2007J20CG using Tapatalk
didn't know there were special tax rules for athletes. If so, I stand corrected. If not let me explain for the final time. Lets take zach wilson for example. Lets say his legal residence is Utah. Where is he going to sleep tonight (I can just see the jokes coming!)? Not flying back to Utah, is he? Probably has a residence in NY or NJ. Day off tomorrow. Is he flying back to Utah. Don't think so. Maybe during the bye week he goes to Utah. Otherwise until the day before a game he is practicing in either NY or NJ. Saturday is travel day but he started out in NY/NJ so it counts as a day in the state. This pattern holds from July through the end of the year. Plus the ota, mini camp, etc. Plus 3 weeks or so of games played in January. I guess its theoretically possible to plan your schedule so that either NY or NJ can't claim a good chunk of your income, but boy given the slightest chance those states are gonna come after your paycheck with every legal power they possess.
I think we can conclude that it’s a factor but only in very few instances. There aren’t a ton of professional athletes that have such a wide open choice as to where they play. And a lot of times they make so much money that the tax bill is negligible to the overall gain.
