what We Need Is An O-line

Everytime Our Rbs Get The Ball The Holes Are Closed Because Of The Line.

Everytime The Ball Is Snapped Chad Is Hurried And Rushed

In The Draft We Must Address Guards.

If We Don't Address Guards Then Our Running Game Will Look The Same Next Year

You Can Put L.t On Our Team An He Won't Have Any Affect To Our R-game.

leon Washington Is An Excellent Rb And He Will Be Our Starter Next Year

Leon Washington cannot gain tough yards. He has great moves and can break a big one but he is just too small to do the job. Runningbacks need to be strong and run over people. Leon just simply cannot do that. Look at what Dillon/Maroney and McGahee did to the Jets this year.

We DO need a RB JT and this is why. No OLine blows gaping holes in defenses anymore. Not Denver's vaunted "zone blocking" or anybody else's OLine. What's in need here is yes, better OLine size and talent but more importantly, a bonifide heir to Curtis Martin.

Leon has all the tools to be a dangerous option however, his size will prevent him from being the everydown, get the hard yards RB. He's simply not big enough to break tackles or move a pile. He wasn't blessed with Barry Sanders' talent but Leon Washington is a dangerous weapon out of the backfield.

What we do need is someone out of the Jamal Lewis, Cory Dillon, Duece McCallister mold. A Big, Nasty Road Warrior who will make defenses feel pain on every tackle made.

Our OLine needs to get bigger and meaner as well however, this project will take several drafts to complete so be patient and thankful we got as far as we have..

basically what the jets need is a pass rusher maybe dwight freeney???

a linebacker who can chase down the RB (briggs??)

and a safety who can complement rhodes nicely (weddle?)

Washington is a known, but he is NOT an every down back. At least not right now. Cedric Houston sucks, not to mention he always seems to be battling an injury. We may not need to draft a RB high, but we cannot go into 2007 with the same guys. The running game needs to be a strength on the team, not just "good" if the offense is going to be more successful.

I think we should go RT with Washington's pick or maybe even RG. I disagree with you tho, we need a runningback who can carry the load. Neither Houston nor Leon Washington can do that. I can see Turner and Washington splitting carries next season. Thats something I won't mind..

washington is a good running back, and can be succesful. but an excellent back is LT or LJ, so saying he is comperable to those two is just ludicrous. unless, of course, there is another level of back beyond excellent, but even then I wouldn't say Loen Washington is just one step behind them.

I agree the o-line is a bigger need, but needing a better o-line doesn't simply qualify Leon as an ecellent back.

Build the offensive line first, don't worry about the running back. When you have a good offensive line getting a running back is not hard. Getting a good line is much harder.

Although improving the OL is more important, we do need a RB. Washington is good for 8-10 carries a game and he is able to take a gadget play for a big gain here and there, but the Jets need to get someone else to replace Houston/Barlow.

Washington is good for 10 carries at most, and that's on specific plays that use his burst of speed to the outside, counters, draws or screens. He just doesn't have the body to pound the football. Not a knock on him, but we all have physical limitations, and it is what is it.

Improving the OL with some beef around Mangold and D'Brick is something that goes without saying. We've revamped the line in just one year, I can just imagine what we'll be looking at in the near future.

dude calm down and relax...Leon washington is a nice back....and we certainly need to improve our run blocking.....but we absolutely need an every down, bruising back....Using caps and curses doesnt make your point any more valid, it just keeps people from taking you seriously......

Were in a 3-4 now Freeney is a DE for the 4-3. If Freeney had any chance of being succesful with us he would have to become a LB

Leon Washington maybe an excellent RB but it would be a huge mistake to go into next season with the same RBs... Houston, Barlow, Washington...
We need 2 soild RBs... Washington and someone else, via draft or Turner.

We will probably address Guards in the draft but I think we really need a RB. Washington can't carry the load.

anyone who says we need Turner is contradicting the notion of acquiring a bruising back. Turner, although more talented, is essentially the same style RB as Washington.

i'm completely against using one of our R2 picks to get Turner.

after watching today, if we want to advance we need a disruptive DE (or a 3-4 NT, if we move D-Rob to DE) and Lamarr Woodley.

    cheers
