It’s a huge benefit to release that gas you don't need. The facilities are beautiful. We're spoiled. If I get a good one, I know I am gonna score two touchdowns. leon washington
I've been thinking about this and what I would really like to see happen this year, which I think is at least half ass realistic, is to get some damn turnovers. The Jets for years have had a reputation of a good defense but never actually generate many sacks, INTs or fumbles. I think that should change this year watching JJ, McDonald and others run around like wrecking balls. Top 8 team in the NFL in sacks AND turnovers generated. That and make the playoffs.
If the Jets were to get the top Wildcard, they should be able to beat any division winner from the AFC South. That division is a joke.
Jacksonville could be the no.1 seed when its all said and done. They have a great coach and Lawrence and Etienne are emerging. Not to mention with the Colts and Texans rebuilding they get 4 wins right there. I think they finish with 12 or 13 wins
Personal goals? I'm just a fan and will be rooting for the club the same way I have been since 1965. The success or failure of the team has nothing to do with me. Go Jets!
If the Jags end up with a better record than the Chiefs then I'll eat my undies. There no way outside of Mahomes getting hurt.
Personally, one of my goals is to not spend too much time watching football. For some games, I'll just watch the NFL highlights on Youtube. If I do watch a full game, I'll make sure to have something productive to do, such as paying bills or reading a book during ads.
I don't have any personal goals other than to watch them, crash and burn like they always do. (Just kidding!!!) I'll be about half the time in CA, so I'll have to watch on delay via DVR for some games. As for the team, everything depends on the offense to score points. Now with the addition of Cook and Hall coming off PUP it should be easier but still imperative. I see two relative weaknesses on this squad and I say relative because this has to be the strongest team many of us have ever seen in a Jets uniform. 1) Run defense. The Jets don't have many run stuffers. Most of the D-line is between 290-310 lbs. It's going to be tough to stop the run when the opposition has 320-350 lb O-lines coming at you. The good news: if the offense can score enough to stay in the lead, the opposition will have little choice but to abandon the run and pass to catch up, playing into the Jets defensive strength. 2) Offensive synchronization. On paper the Jets have an incredibly strong offense and should have no trouble scoring points. This is why I say that anything less than an appearance in the AFC championship game would be a huge disappointment. The bad news: If the Jets get this far, they will most likely be up against the cream of the NFL in teams like Cinn., Phila., K.C., Buffalo. These teams have offenses that have played together for a few years, and that is an advantage over the Jets who have a totally revamped offense.
I think we would all be thrilled if they played Philly in the playoffs since that can only happen on Super Bowl Sunday.
A deep playoff run. This is the best Jets team since 2010. This is the best team Aaron Rodgers has played on since 2010. I understand some people will be content with just a playoff appearance right now but the moment this team starts winning games expectations will probably change really fast.
My goal is to not beat my wife when the Jets lose. Didn't the feminists say that men beat their wives when they watch football?
Beat the Patriots twice, and beat the Giants badly. That’s my ante. Having a winning divisional record, and advancing to the AFCCG id consider a very solid and exciting year. Winning the AFCCG or Super Bowl would all be sweet gravy on top.
Someone actually studied this and found that domestic violence goes up when the local football team loses. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3712874/
We better hope Rodgers rebounds from a disappointing season by his standards last year. He had 5 games where he threw for less than 200 yards. He had no games where he threw for over 300 yards. The closest he came to that was 291 yards and he had 3 INT's that game. The OL really needs to protect him. Anyway, here are Rodgers 2022 stats. Aaron Rodgers 2022 Stats per Game - NFL - ESPN
It's crazy to think that we've only had one season in like the last 20 years where our starting QB had a better passer rating than Rogers had last year. It was Josh McCown in 2017 when he posted a 94.5 passer rating. Prior to that, you have to go back to Pennington in 2002. So yeah, disappointing for Aaron Rodgers, but one of the best in the past two decades if he was the Jets QB. Remember, they Jets won 7 games last year with Wilson/White/Streveler and a rash of injuries. They don't need Rodgers to have an MVP year for them to be successful.
