That's why I love this board -- you guys are hilarious. I have no idea how the division is going to wash out, but I do think that predicting the Pats to have worse record than last year is not reasonable, given the improvement in coaching on the offensive side. It also seems to me that all the teams in this division have dubious O lines, so QB health may be what decides who ends up where. And you folks here seem to forget that Rodgers was also 8-9 last year. I just don't believe in him -- he's the king of broken plays.
Also, why does "Sell the Team" come up as my avatar? Is it the default avatar for posters on this board? I never set it or asked for it.
Just last year BB was able to out scheme 6 of these QBs for 7 wins. Doubt that happens this year. week 2 - trubisky (pitt) week 6 - briskett (cleveland) week 7 - zach wilson (jets) week 9 - sam ehlinger (colts) week 11 - zach wilson (jets) week 14 - colt mccoy (kyler tore his acl 2 minutes into the game) week 17 - skylar thompson (miami) 7 of your 8 wins came against QBs who aren't even starters this year. You guys have an awful OL with zero talent on the outside to scare anyone. People aren't going to be scared of Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas. The Pats are going to stink this year. There is a reason that Vegas set the O/U wins as a lower amount than what you had last year. Open your eyes.
If you want to use the opposing QB metric, we play 9 games against teams that have questionable QBs: Dolphins x2, Raiders, Saints, Commanders, Colts, Giants, Steelers, Broncos. And that's giving the benefit of the doubt to Dak Prescott. Plus the Chargers haven't beaten the Pats in quite a while -- I don't think Herbert has ever beaten us. Not saying this is even a valid way to assess chances of winning vs losing, but you seem to think it is.
You guys won 7 of 8 games vs QBs who aren't even starters this year man. Every QB you play this year is better than the crap you played last year. Unless you are wearing Patriot colored glasses, why should anyone think they would more than 7 games? Shit, we can go back to 2021 if you want. You guys won 9 games. When the defense allowed 14 points or more the Pats were 2-7 in those games (2-8 if you count the Bills throttle in the WC round). Give me a break about the Pats. The 20 year dynasty died the moment Tom left. It's done. Time to enjoy the basement of the AFC East.
My mistake. 10 games. 2 wins when the defense allowed more than 14. Pats are in the basement. Accept it.
My playoff teams would be the same. The only difference is that I think the Jets beat Philly for the first time ever in the SB, which makes it all the sweeter.
The only thing certain is that Aaron Rodgers will show up at every big event in the NY area. For you young guys he is like "Zelig" from the Woody Allen movie. Saw him at the US Open tonight. Surely he will throw out the first ball at Yankee Stadium Tuesday. The man is having fun and really has become one of us.
I've said this all along. Love my fellow Jets fans to eat the crow lol Sent from my IPhone 43 using Tapatalk V.86
In light of this weekend’s results across the board, and especially last night, my post seems rather prophetic, wouldn’t you say?
