Sometimes teams just get beat in all facets. Refs were riding the Cowboys dick, we lost the momentum battle very early when the Cowboys punched it in and got dominated by the best player in the league at the line of scrimmage. The defense was somewhat flat (not a ton of blame here though), the running game was completely non-existent, and the offensive line was horrible as expected. This is an early season non conference road spot. Throw the tape out, don’t watch it tomorrow and don’t worry about it. We’re on to the next game. Oh and fuck the Cowboys and their stupid ass National time and fuck Jerry Jones with his hand in the refs pockets. Fucking douchebag.
I'd agree if this game wasn't a stark reminder of things we've known for a long time. The offensive line is useless. The offense is uninspired and short on talent. Bad teams with bad QBs outperform this offense consistently. We spent our 1st rounder on a guy who didn't play today because we're 4 deep at his position. The team is run like offense is a distant second to defense when it's a distant first. How long have we been seeing these same issues? I can barely recall the last time we weren't. Losing Rodgers effectively ended our season, but most teams don't completely turn into a pumpkin when they lose their starting QB. It's one thing to downgrade, it's another for your offense to become completely useless when it happens.
The Will McDonald inactive hurts the whole franchises effort. No idea why the offensive line wasn’t shuffled after week one. Put Schweitzer and Tippman in. Move AVT to left tackle and bring in a free agent like DJ Fluker. I hope that all happens now. Duane Brown has entered Wayne Hunter status. He’s that bad.
With another performance like the one today, it might be fair to ask just how good the offense could have been with Rodgers under center. The O-line is so bad that I fear he would have been absolutely tee'd off on by the Cowboys today.
Defense was our strength last season, so we spent a 1st round pick on Defense at a position we didn't need. Our offense looked like shit last season, the O-line specifically so we should have spent the 1st rounder on it, but no we wait until the second round and pick a player that isn't seeing play time because we already have a veteran starting there. Worst of all, last week after Rodgers goes down we stick with Wilson who was so bad he was benched last year in favor of White. The same White that the offense liked so much more they wore shirts to support him as starter. Just about any guy off the street would look just as good, and if they didn't, at least they would have an excuse. It is hard to get excited knowing Wilson is our QB, and a chore to watch these games.
Our offense looks pretty much the same as it did during Rex's last year as HC. We have not progressed on the offensive side of the ball at all since then. It's shocking. I'm sick of watching half a team.
Be saying the same thing next week, and the week after, but don't panic, Rodgers will be back for the playoffs!!! PLAYOFFS
It's honestly hard to believe. It's like our owners haven't been watching the NFL over the last decade+. Maybe they haven't. Offense wins championships. Defense helps but offense keeps you in games. Defense alone hasn't kept teams in games since the NFL at large realized passing>running 20 years ago. Enough with the defensive-first head coaches. Enough with the OC retreads. Enough with spending premium draft picks on defense when our offense sucks. Enough enough enough. I'm tired of it.
Well said. I'm not as discouraged as I would have thought. They played solidly for a while. Even Zach wasn't bad for much of the game. Thought he showed good composure and made some nice throws until things came apart as the game slipped away later. OL was bad and also didn't love their game plan for protection. I just hope they settle in some. Hopefully Brown will improve with more game action. If not they'll need to make some changes. Rarely saw TEs blocking by the line and HATED 5 wide on 1st down Those roughing calls were absolute nonsense. Just awful. And is Sauce makes that pick its a totally different game. I just hope Zach doesn't get down on himself. Ready for next week!
Will Mcdonald looked so terrific in training camp and during pre-season games, bending and twisting to take down quarterbacks. Yet today they bench him and put in Lawson who had two crummy tackles. Also why was Hardman only put in during the waning moments of the game? The Jets signed him for his breakaway speed. One of the beat writers at Saleh's presser mentioned the very thing to the coach and Saleh's weak response was "Yeah, we'll look into it." Did Hardman piss somebody off? Is he this year's Elijah Moore?
Zach played fine. The OL was trash. Dallas was just better in all phases today. This NE game was the game I was looking at when Zach took over.
We've seen this story before nothing new. He'll gut just enough wins to make you think there's a chance but there simply isn't. We're dead in the water with Wilson at QB.
There were some bad calls like JFM personal foul penalty as well as a few others. But we had a shit game plan and the defense did not play well. Our OL is the worst in the league statistically speaking. Lastly, Outside of Wilson our receivers don't get seperation. And where the fuck is Mecole Hardman?
The 2 NE games got him benched last year. He's always had his worst games against them. I'll give you that game is more telling but I can't imagine how even the most die hard fan can psych himself up for that one
ya more than fine 12-27 170 yards with 3 interceptions, and a 38.1 rating, if he keeps this up we are super bowl bound for sure!!! Matter of facts can we call Jamarcus Russell and see if he can come out of retirement? Im sure he can win the job over from Zach at this point.
!!!?!!?? fucking knew this already,! Everyone was acting like we have a great WR room because we have G. Wilson when everyone else in that room is avg. Rodgers may have been about to elevate them but even that was a stretch since he played with Lazard and Cobb for years and neither are what you would call a superstar
