I checked Shoprite ad and it was $1.99 for chicken breast, .99 for Broccoli, and $1.99 for 5 lbs of potatoes. For a family of 5 you get 2.5 lb of chicken, $5, 3 broccoli crowns, $3, 1 bag potatoes $2, total of $10 and you'll have potatoes left and maybe some chicken and broccoli left also.
Fresh food for the win!!! Now there are a lot of areas of this country that don't have access to fresh food at those prices or to fresh food at all. Food Deserts. We have more than enough food and good enough infrastructure that everyone in the country can get fresh food. Most already have access to somewhat healthy frozen foods (maybe at a premium price). We need to manage the food infrastructure and transportation of this country better. If everyone gets access to fresh food, I have no doubt obesity rates will fall.
True, but communities that are struggling with having poor access , need to stop driving business out with the crime/looting phenomenon. but I agree, it’s 2023, there is no excuse for access to healthy living . But im sure there is a Burger King commercial on right now with a catchy hook.
Amen to that! I could never cut out carbs. Luckily, I've maintained my weight pretty well, but, man do I love my IPAs and bread.
I got a killer craving for a Whopper a couple of years ago so I stopped and bought one and it tasted terrible. The meat was a strange texture and it reeked of liquid smoke taste. I guess they want to play up the flame broiled thing but it was pretty bad. I don't really eat fast food except once a year to remind me why I don't eat it. That Whopper got me through 2021. Although it could be good and then it's like 2 or 3 times. That's why I took Jack in the Crack off my list, the stuff I like from there is always good.
I like McDonalds Breakfast. That's my achilles heal. I could forgo the rest but every once in a while I want some pancakes, eggs, and what passes for bacon from Ronald. Also their biscuits and oatmeal are so good.
No, it was a beef patty, but it seemed like the way that they molded the pink slime made it look like a sponge. maybe an equipment malfunction.
I would say Burger King has probably fallen from it's peak, whenever that was. They barely exist in New England, and it feels like the Ocean State Job Lot of fast foods.
You're calling me a liar because you can't believe I have the weekly circular right here with the exact price for the chicken and broccoli? I'm not going to take a picture of it for you, but you really should just look it up online - I gave you the name of the store, the zip code is 11901 - and then come back and apologize for being such a jerk. No wonder you think processed food is cheaper than real food - you probably haven't been in a supermarket long enough to understand potatoes get sold by the pound, if you buy a five pound bag it's even cheaper. You sound like someone who gets annoyed that the mailman delivers store price advertisements to your box. The funny thing is I never buy food at Google, I buy it at supermarkets - do you even know where one is? And all things are relative, if your "neck of the woods" has higher food costs why would you think they have lower prices on crap? Eat whatever the hell you want but pay the price - at the register and at the doctor.
Yup, even at food lion here , the 4 pack is 6-8$. Worth it , with vegetables/potatoes/rice, I can stretch that into 5-6 meals for my wife and I
I'm eating too much ice cream lately. Hagen Das was on sale and i went in hard. Butter cookie cone. Incredible.
Over the summer I woke up thinking and rum raisin. Hadn’t had that for decades. So I definitely put a pint down over a few days. Hagen das coffee is still my all time favorite
