He plays way too far off the line of scrimmage, his tackling is suspect and he's the type of guy that is either going to make the pick or the big pass break up or he's going to let someone get yards on him easy with underneath throws and then will get hit with the deep ball constantly. David Barrett is an average cornerback but for what we signed him to be (a starter) he is not. I would like to see him given his out right release and either Nate Clements, Asante Samuel or a 1st day draft pick brought in.
id personnally rather see him on this team he has a tremendous upside and would be good on specials and nickel packages just need to rework his contract
Unfortunately I believe that is the design of our D more then the individual CBs. We saw Dyson and I believe Poteat picked apart by Brady all game too because of the cushion and I, for one, constantly see our CBs giving up the underneath pass all the time. I don't agree with it but I think it's the scheme more then the players.
I like Miller as the #2 as well, Barrett would be ok if his base salary wasn't 3 million. Get a shutdown corner and cut barrett or Restructure his contract and use him as the nickel We need a big time pass rush then our corners will look a lot better
