You will love Colt Brennan, the Hawaii junior QB who declared his intention to enter the NFL draft. Brennan led the NCAA in virtually every passing category including yards, QB Rating, TD's... http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/sortables?stat=pass&sort=rat&season=3&year=2006&group=80 Like Kellen Clemens he was the QB in the run and shoot offense which has produced a lot of NFL QB's including, Kellen Clemens, Tommy Chung (also from Hawaii's run and shoot), Kliff Kingsbury, Danny Weurful and Andre Ware among others. Weurful and Ware were Heisman trophy winners. A second round pick and another insurance policy for Chad Pennington.
knowing Raj's MO, that was probably his point; he just tried subtlety this time. i still like Clemens over all the aformentioned, though Brennan looks like a baller. cheers
Taking a QB in the draft in any round is a bad idea. Just fill in the #3 slot with anybody I would say. If Pennington and Clemens both go down, the season is over anyway.
Take the Raven route to the SB and develop the killer Defense and let Chad continue to manage the offense. That should take maybe 3-4 more years IF we put all our effort into this.
How dare you compare Pennington and the Jets O to the 2000 Ravens? You know if Pennington was on that team they would of went 19-0.
OMG this is Hysterical-- It's Timmy Chang, not Tommy Chung!!! but I guess all those Chinese guys are the same right? Funniest thing I have ever seen!!
Who the hell is Tommy Chung? Do they mean Timmy Chang? Chang passed for all kinds of record numbers at Hawaii, but he is doing less then stellar in the NFL. I was surprised to find that he is on an NFL roster actually. I remember seeing a story on Colt Brennan. Apparently he is good friends with Leinart. They went to high school together. I watched a couple of Hawaii games including their bowl game. Colt was impressive, but it's hard not to look good in that system. I would be shocked if this kid was a first round pick though, he is more then likely a day two pick. That said I would love to have some insurance for Chad. While this suggestion will draw plenty of ire from his terrible bowl game, I still like Troy Smith. He is stock appears to have taken a dive since the championship game, but I would still take a shot on this kid in the later rounds, even with Brad Smith on the roster. I just like Troy's intangibles.
funny. timmy chang basically broke every record but he couldnt even maka an nfl practice squad
A QB any earlier than the 6th round would be idiotic and there is no room for and no reason to draft another Quarterback in the 2nd round for a consectutive season. This guy is another whoever the guys name was last year that ended up in Philadelphia I believe and was soon cut. Wang was it? Yeah, wheres he now after setting all those records at Hawaii? Point and fact is, we do not need a Quarterback so talking of drafting one is just plain stupid.
Guys, he's being sarcastic. As others noted above, he's satirizing the FO's decision to draft Clemens in the second round. Obviously, he's not much of a fan of Kellen. Note the references to Ware, Weurffel and Kingsbury.
bingo. just read my response, it's like the second one. you can smell the stench of Raj's posts from a mile away. i'm sure all the talk about Clemens lately is just blistering to Raj. he couldn't take it, so he took his cheap shot at Clemens and the FO. cheers
Stench? This thread is awesome. He is trying to be a dick and all he comes up with is comic gold. I am so glad I took him off ignore. This guy is actually amusing.
It really is worth it watching him fall on his face. You know it's going to happen, but it's just so fun to watch it anyway.
I hope if Clemens is the answer he changes his number from 6 back to 11 like he was at Oregon, because 6 reminds me way to much of you know who, still will not mention his name.
