I can't wait to see how Woody re-works Mangini contract.

hi, i'm just hoping that woody does the right thing and rips up Eric's current contract and gives him a well deserved raise.

i know he did it with herm after his first season.

herm was still one of the lowest paid coaches, even after 5 years (the record says he did a good job and probably was underpaid----i'm still not a herm fan though).

ok, i'm not saying hand the mangini a blank check after this season because next year will truly be a more severe barometer of his talent because of a much harder schedule and the jets will not be taken lightly, BUT woody must show good faith!

i feel that a CREATIVE, incentive laden, lengthy,lucrative- type contract MUST be employed to insure that the mangini REMAINS the jets head coach for a looooooong time.

    woody, don't be cheap!

    look around.

look at the sidelines around the league.

the quality coaches are few and far between!

i look foward to next year to see the course of action tanny and eric take as they piece together the 2007 edition of our NYJETS.

I'm looking up 95 to Foxboro for class coaches...nope, the radar comes up negative!

I'm hoping there is a clause in that contract that states that he can't leave until he's topped Cowher's stint in Steeltown.

The incentive shouod include that he match Herm Edwards second year as HC of the NYJ. AFC East championship and at least a first round win in the playoffs.

If he is one of the lowest paid coaches in the league (and I believe he is) he absolutely deserves a new richer contract. Woody...Pay the man!

In no way should Herm be used as a benchmark for any coach. With his record he nothing more than a medicore head coach with occasional good seasons. I would hope a HC would be held to a higher standard.

And another that says his team will be an embarrassment in it's 5th year and have to be rebuilt out of neglect and ignorance.

Also included in the new contract should be language that forces Mangini to spice up his press conferences with equal parts mularkey and deflection. Woody can withhold the clause that requires two double-digit losing seasons in three years.

Just a note that I didn't see. Wouldn't Tennanbaum be reupping Mangini's contract and not Woody since Tenny is the GM.

What the hell is wrong with you?

You can't have mularkey and deflection without shenanigans!!!! It's like roast beef and mash potatoes without gravy....

A press conference with mularkey and deflection and no shenanigans is a press conference not worth having

From what we have seen with the franchise's dealings with head coaches, Woody takes an active role at the head coaching position, and it's ultimately his decision.
