I'm hearing rumors that the Jets might go after Duece. Personally, I LOVE the idea of having Duece run for us, but I don't know how likely it is.

I'm not totally against the idea. I think he'd be a nice addition, but I think if we're building for the future, he's not the way to go.

Good player, I don't think NO would want to get rid of him though. He's a bit up there in age and he had the knee injury.

PLus their already is a Deuce thread, it doesn't hurt to go back a page or 2.

I also seriously doubt Deuce will leave NO, or that NO would even let him go, i think they understand that Reggie isn't ready to be their full time back yet, and that they need that hard yardage, grind down the defense sort of runner. They have a great combo in Bush and Deuce, i see it being like that for at least another year or two

Dino beat me too it. The rumors start here. If you haven't heard we are also persuing Portis, Samuel, and Nate Clements.

I think we will go with youth and DM is not going to cut it there.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure I heard the rumor here. I missed the previous thread about him and didn't feel like running a search.

Now I have a basic understanding of why he wouldn't be a great fit here, and I generally agree with you.

its his 6th year in the league and he JUST turned 28 two weeks ago...he still has 2 or 3 years left at optimal performance....did you guys see the game on saturday night?????all this talk about the future....it doesnt take that long to become a superbowl contender.(see this years improvement over last)..Im not saying he is a vailable but if he is I cannot understand any Jet fan not wanting him....unless it goes back to the sunshiner attitude of the guys we have are all awesome(leon and cedrick) and all that bullshit......anything but a number one, and Id take him in a heartbeat....its a no brainer

I don't see the point of speculating about the realities of acquiring him when his team is still in the playoffs. The Saints might not even unload him.

As Mangini always says "this is a process". The Jets are not going to be winging after every high priced Free Agent or Trade possibility out there. Look at the Patriots (That is US). Get a free agent here and there and build players through the draft. The players on the team must produce no matter who they are. Teams like Washington, Minnesota and the Giants always go for big FA's and never do anything.

so why cant Deuce be one of the 'FREE AGENTS WE PICK UP HERE AND THERE"??? why do some people make picking up deuce and having a long term plan mutually exclusive? are we never going to sign another free agent because mangini and tanny are in charge? I dont get this thinking

I heard from a good source that NO decided to keep the Duece and ship Reggie Bush out. I heard Bush was in Mangini's office yesterday begging for a tryout and he even offered to play special teams. Has anyone else heard this rumor? Seriously, I'm 0.0000001% POSITIVE it's true.

Should we take Bush? I think we can get him for the league minimum. He's probably only good for 3, maybe 4000 yards a season so it's a long shot.

Hey, seriously, how many times do you think the Texan's ownership has kicked themselves already? During Bush's long runs last weekend, that's all I could think about!!!!

"Hey brainyack...did you just catch that 40 yard scamper"!!!!

heehee life is good in Mangini's hands.

A guy who I could see breaking loose from a team could be Dominic Davis. I have been looking at a bunch of draft website and most say that the Texans look like home for Peterson out of OU. If this happens what do they do with Davis and would you guys be interested?
