From Rotoworld: Panthers fired offensive coordinator Dan Henning Monday, in addition to offensive line coach Mike Maser and defensive backs coach Rod Perry. Henning's inability to cobble together a decent running game for three straight seasons ultimately led to his demise. In-house candidates Mike McCoy or Jim Skipper are considered favorites to replace him. Keyshawn Johnson said that he wouldn't want to return to the Panthers if Henning was let go. Henning could wind up in New York or Dallas. Jan. 15 - 3:22 pm et Source: Rock Hill Herald
He won't be out of a job for long. However, this past season the Panthers offense was pretty disappointing. I think it was a combination of the lack of running game and Delhomme inconsistencies.
As OC he did a horrible job while he was here. he was the OC in 2000 when we were pass happy w/ Vinny coming off a year off and Chrebet and ward as our top WRs. We should have relied more on Curtis. As a QBs Coach he did a great job, Vinny credits him w/ helping him turn around his career in '98.
I could see him ending up in SD if Cam Cameron goes... His offensive mind with that talet would be devestating
When has he been the OC for a great offense? he worked w/ Wash but I don't think he was the OC, he did a bad job here and in carolina only one time was his O top 10 in points. Under henning carolina was 30, 15, 13, 8 and 27 in points scored and 31, 16, 13, 22 and 24 in yards gained.
Well, Jerry Reese did say that he would look for a good QB coach for Eli. Is this guy the right guy for him? Looking at his track record, I like it.
