Last time I checked, the Chargers went up against the Patriots and Marcus McNeill had a field day with Richard Seymour. Oh yeah, both of these guys are PRO-BOWLERS! Get your facts straight.

McNeill also blocks for the best RB in the game. I remember a couple of plays where Seymour got by him but LT was able to avoid him because he's just that good. He also has about 50lbs on D'Brick which definitely helps in the running game.

I also think the person you quoted was referring to how D'Brick had to face Seymour, Jason Taylor, and Aaron Schobel from Buffalo twice. All three are great pass rushers.

McNeill had to face Tamba Hali (another rookie) and Jared Allen with KC, Elvis Dumervil (another rookie), Ebenezer Ekuban and Kenard Lang with Denver, and Derrick Burgess (who I think lines up on the other side) on the Raiders.

Out of that list, maybe Burgess scares people but not the others. Going against 2 rookies? If only D'Brick had been so lucky. McNeill did play against Buffalo once this year and Schobel did get a sack as well.

McNeill is good, but some people treat him like he's perfect and D'Brick is a POS. That is not the case.

    - Richard Seymour
    - Terrell Suggs (9.5 sacks)
    - Aaron Schobel (14 sacks)
    - Leonard Little (13 sacks)
    - Jared Allen / Tamba Hali (7.5 / 8 sacks)
    - Kamerion Wimbley (11 sacks)
    - Chike Okeafor (8.5 sacks)
    - Elvis Dumervil (8.5 sacks)
    - Robert Geathers (10.5 sacks)

    What did you just say?

I was merely going by the teams they had to play twice in their divisions. Since I'm at work I didn't have time to go through all of their opponents. I still don't see anyone on that list named Jason Taylor though, the DPOTY.

And Bryan Thomas had 8.5 sacks too. I don't think people are scared of him. I'm talking about elite DE's. I don't consider some on that list as elite, and I'm really ignoring anyone with under 10 sacks.

Also, they both faced Wimbley so that's pretty much a wash. D'Brick played the Bears who had Mark Anderson with 12 sacks. Bobby McCray had 10 sacks for the Jags. We can go back and forth if we go through all of the teams.

I was merely pointing out that D'Brick had to go up against some of the best DE's in the league twice each in his division. I can't say the same for the players in McNeill's division yet.

Schobel played McNeill and D'Brick. Now guess who got raped by him.

D'Brick got owned in the 2nd meeting against Schobel.

Why no mention of the 1st meeting against Schobel? Schobel recorded 2 assists.

Look, McNeill clearly had the better rookie season on the left side, and had his back not been in issue, he would of been a Top 15 pick.

why the brick bash? sure mcneil had the better year...big whoop. i have spinal stenosis and im 29 (ive had 2 back surgeries from discks and such). im sure that within the next 2 years youre gonna see mcniel hit the sidelines with "back spasms" and such. i dont wish the kid harm, because a jacked back is the worst thing in the world. but playing OL with a back condition at the start of his career means his career may not be long enough to qualify for the pension.

its still a crapshoot....just as the draft is year after year. thing is, id still rather have brick simply because theres no real ceiling on him. hes healthy, and i think everyone can agree he got better as the year went on. you could see he prepared for each opponent, and his footwork and technique got better as well. with mcniel (i didnt really pay much attention to him) the fact that he has a preexisting BACK issue is a scary thing for a team. (what # did he go at on draft day?). time will tell i guess.

Mangold deserves every compliment in the books, but Brick looked like a skinny TE by the end of the season. I'm still not sold on him as a #4 overall pick. He better put on 20 pounds of muscle this offseason, or we really missed a shot at a special player.
