Long if I were Mangini I'd have a hard time keeping Schott here if he had his eye on coaching with his dad. I don't think its in Schottys mind to jump ship, but if a coach has his eye on another job thats not even a promotion then let him go I say.

I believe that was a tampering situation that was resolved, not simply "trading" a coach for draft picks, which ended with the Jon Gruden fiasco. two entirely different scenarios.

    and for your education, specious:

hey, your Herman Edwards reference was specious as well, go figure. learning by doing.
I am assuming your smiley is in reference to your own intoxication level, which is why you have confused the two different scenarios, tampering for trading picks. for your education, I provide you the following, as long as you are sober enough to read it:

I don't think Marty likes the SD front office,so i can't see him urging jr to come there. But Marty signed for next year, but declined the extension,so i can see Brian taking over after that.

Cameron did get the job and is now head coach. Brian Schott put things to rest last week when he pulled his name out and said he is committed to the Jets. Hes smart he sees that another year here will land him somewhere amazing next year. Plenty of jobs open up every year. Also for all the people saying SD and Schott because of Marty being there you are nuts. The GM Foley and Schott Sr. absolutely hate each other and they havent even talked in the past year. They had issues with the Rivers/Brees deal and continue to have issues. SD screwed up big time as they should have fired Schott and hired Cameron. Just because Marty coached there doesnt mean his son needs to follow. He finally this year made a name for himself why would he want to step back into the shadow??

Schott is here for the next year then we people see the genious he is, they will start considering him big time next year as a HC. The thing is that he has the choice to find the right situation for him. Patience is virtue.

He can only go under 2 circumstances:

    1) We allow it (and no, you can't trade it for picks. Only HC changes can involve picks)

    2) SD hires him as a head coach and demotes his dad... not happening.

It is known that the SD GM and Marty do not get along, I can not see thier GM handing the reigns over to his son. Anyway, that Job will be Wade Phillip's if Marty does not return after next year.
