this was horrible, not fun not funny. i cant stand sanders or his daddy but nobody deserves that bs to happen to them. i couldnt even watch it. it was like watching a car wreck. really horrible.
And this, folks, is why you ALWAYS lock your computer gear when you walk away. This moron could have cost his dad his job. I can guarantee you young Ulbricht has most certainly ensured that his piece of nepotism just ended. He'll never work in the NFL again...if he currently was.
I left my computer unlocked at work once and someone added the Nick Cage extension to chrome. Clearly this lesson never happened to Jeff.
Ulbrich's kid recording it all and putting it on social media is the crazy part....he musta thought he'd get a few laughs, and that's it. Ooops.
We heard the official least damaging version of the story. But it's interesting how the Athletic writers who ripped a new asshole to 17 year old Woody's son for giving a game ball to his favorite player, are now defending 21 year old Jeff's son who in the best case scenario stole the phone number of Sanders and then called him impersonating a GM to lie to him that he was selected by the Saints when Sanders was waiting for a call for two days, and then made fun of him telling to wait longer. If this were the Jets, you bet your ass they crucify them already. But since Ulbrich is a member of the Falcons now, it's all good.
how are they defending Ulbrich's kid? I've not seen that. I hope thats not true I also think it's a little dramatic to say the Athletic or the media ripped Woody's kid a new asshole. The article shared the story of what happened. We the fans took it from there. Besides clearly there was more to the story than handing out a game ball
https://x.com/ZackBlatt/status/1916584362575057405 "By all accounts, Jax is a good kid who made a mistake". I don't recall the same sentiment for a 17 year old got that 21 year old Jax is getting, even though Jax actually fucked up WAY worse. The point is, when it's the Jets, we get different much harsher media treatment vs others. So take these "reporters" with grain of salt.
The NFL just fined the Falcons $250,000 and Ulbrich was fined $100,000. That was a VERY expensive phone call.
I find it interesting that all of the sudden there are multiple events of draftees also getting the crank call. That is a significant NFL breach of confidentiality. It seems to me either the kid got a lot more than one phone number, thus the term accidently is a pile of BS, or the NFL has a serious problem. in any event, Ulbrich either did not have a password protected iPad for a company issued item with such private info, or he just let the information out there at home unprotected. How about leaving the playbook next. Simply pathetic display of carelessness by a coach that this idiotic leadership actually anointed as interim HC. No wonder we were the laughingstock of the league.
I am not totally buying this story. I mean this was the least damaging story they could come up with once the video surfaced with Brick's son in the background. But I recall a lot of leaks when Brick was here, some game plans got leaked as well. Now this happens and I don't think all that was because he forgot to lock his iPad. Then he also talked to the reporters asking them to write that CB is important position or something to try to influence Woody to agree to pick a CB early. I would imagine if Woody found out about this, it would not be ideal for him. He could be just a blabbering moron that's it. I would not be surprised if Brick straight up gave the phone # to his son or anyone else who asked for it. Again, I have no idea what really happened and neither do any of us, so we can't assume anything beyond the official story, but given some of the history, it could have been even worse. Bottom line, I am glad we moved on from all these fuckers. Imagine if he were still here when it happened. I do not think we would have "reporters" saying "he is a great kid who made a mistake" LOL
