When did ol' Rich start working for the Jets PR department? I didn't know he was still around. All kidding aside I didn't see much substance in that article. So Fields is the perfect fit for the Jets new offense because he's quiet and he's humble and he works very hard and he's very active with his body language whatever the eff that means. And Ruckert hopes to rekindle very fond memories they once had together let's ignore the fact Mason Taylor should win the starting TE job sooner rather than later. Ooookay if you say so, Rich.
its funny, we complain about these guys shitting on the jets for decades, and as soon as they write a puff piece to bring some joy to mudville we go and try to shit all over it.
show you what? the nfl stats from last year for completion percentage? i would hope you could find that. but maybe not, you must be a republican or something. always need someone to hold your hand to show you stuff thats really easy to find. https://www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2024/passing.htm you will find justin fields at 65.8 and the sociopath at 63.0
Kind of think you're missing the point here. History has been written - there's no changing it; the "show me" is for the future. What's different this year is that most of those willingly force fed the irrational exuberance and avid enough in that mindlessness to scorn those who refused to swallow and repeat it are no longer joining us. Those of us who have been saying "show me" for years (decades, actually) are sitting under the palm trees this year, sipping a cold one and waiting to see what happens without the daily nuisance of having to defend reality which will reveal itself soon enough, one way or the other.
the "perfect fit" comment in the headline is not Cimini's take, its a direct quote from Ruckert. Which was in the article. Ruckert thinks Fields is a perfect fit
I wouldn't say the Jets have the worst WR room in the NFL. Actually, Wilson by himself is better than quite a few teams entire WR room put together. Having said that, the team still has a LOT of work to do and a LOT of hoping a couple of these guys pan out. I saw an article on Arian Smith talking about him working on his drop problems. If he can improve and Corley can "forget" that super boneheaded play, last year, and progress with hopefully decent coaching the team might have something that resembles an O.K. receiver corps. Toss in what SHOULD be a vast upgrade at TE hopefully Fields has enough to resemble a decent passing game. Of course, there is the other fly in the ointment. Can Fields get them the ball on time, in step with accuracy? Time will tell though.
So we all know what's going to happen right? Jets are going to beat the Steelers and Justin Fields is going to outplay Rodgers. Everyone will be hyped and excited and then the Jets will lose the next 5 in a row. Bank on it.
I need Jets Ws to bring me joy not a puff piece about a journeyman QB on his third team in the past three seasons.
When did Ruckert become the type of player he makes a comment like that the reporter takes it and runs with it and concocts a puff piece like that? Had Garret Wilson said that then ol' Rich would've had a story I would've had to consider perhaps the Jets got something here. But it's Ruckert. The Jets just drafted his replacement. Who cares? He wasn't the best TE on the roster last season Conklin was.
because Ruckert played with Fields before, so they captured his thoughts on that experience. you didn’t even read this article
I think the WR room will improve w the new OC. I foolishly cheered the hiring of Hackett as OC because I thought had the credentials. But after watching the jets offense flounder under him, I quickly changed my mind. I'm no expert but I was stunned watching the jets one game and noticing that blocking TE CJ Uzomah was constantly lined up split out wide (???). Uzomah was a terrible signing by Douglas, but any value he may have had as a TE was an as inline blocker. I couldn't believe it when Hackett kept splitting out Uzomah like a WR, where he would NOT be blocking a linebacker, and his value as a receiver was zero--Remember Uzomah's wide open drop in end zone as a jet? One example how our old OC had no idea how to utilize the small amount of talent a player had.
