I'm trying to assume anything yet. He went to the locker room as a passenger in the cart rather than laying on the back. Maybe that's a good sign?

Justin Fields was able to walk into the Jets facility on his own strength after being carted off. #Jets

Tyrod is a better QB. Said that from day 1.

I dont think they'd let him try to walk if they knew it was a torn achilles, right? trainers can tell pretty quickly by squeezing the calf.

idk just tryin to stay upbeat, hopefully its just a sprained ankle or something. We will see what Glenn says after practice

I've seen dozens of players walk into the tunnel with a torn ACL

Looks like a toe injury which means it either lingers or it’s broken and he’s out until probably week two. Not ideal when you are a below average quarterback trying to learn a new system with a new team and new receivers.

There probably isn’t much of a drop off from fields to Tyrod if at all… The big problem is that the offense is clearly centered around a quarterback who could run for 700 yards and eight touchdowns. You are either starting from scratch with Tyrod or trying to fit a square peg into a round hole.

It really is impressive how cursed this franchise is.

So, in other words, "play like a Jet". :D

In all seriousness, hope it's not serious and he's able to play. Glad we have Tyrod as a backup, but given his injury history as well, hoping the new GM is already looking around to identify another QB to bring in, if needed, that would at least be able to give us some semblance of hope that there could be some competitive and meaningful football played after Halloween.

Tyrod is a running QB too.

week 2 is like 8 weeks away, a toe wont keep Fields out that long

Tyrod is a running QB that's 35 years old with a history of injuries. I don't have him in the same realm as Fields when it comes to running. But you're right, my calendar is all sorts of fucked, he won't be out 8 weeks.

Dislocated toe, not the big toe. Obviously good news but you hope it's not a lingering issue considering he's only serviceable because of what he does with his legs.

Who was that defender that cut his toe off mid-game and went back in? (years ago!)

Talk about an awful lot of massive overreaction at the first sign of injury without hardly knowing any of the facts. The ghost of past Jets curses.

I'd like to meet the Jet fan who thought "I'm sure he's fine." He probably has some dope drugs.
