Because I didn't see a Wild Card weekend thread. If one is started before the games start please put this in the thread. The NFL is so wide open this season I can't remember another season like it. I wouldn't be surpised to see some big coaches, big teams, favorites get knocked off early in these playoffs. So many great matchups. Panthers over Rams - I get why many people are picking the Rams in this one Carolina isn't a very impressive team. Still they do know they can beat the Rams and they're home I believe that means a lot. Bears over Packers- I don't know much about these Bears, I've watched the Packers a few times this season.I'm going with the home team in a great rivalry playoff game. Jaguars over Bills - Buffalo/Josh Allen seem to be a sentimental favorite in these playoffs. I don't see it. I watched the Jaguars a few times this season they seem to be a good all around team they have the QB and they can play defense. Who knows it may be Lawrence's time to win a Super Bowl? Eagles over 49ers - what a great matchup and what a terrible draw for the 49ers. I have to go with the defending Super Bowl champs at home. Chargers over Patriots - terrible draw by the Patriots in the wild card round. Facing a Jim Harbaugh coached team on wild card weekend isn't much of a reward for winning 14 games. I can't imagine a Jim Harbaugh coached team being one and done in the playoffs two years in a row. Steelers over Texans - Aaron Rodgers and the Pittsburgh Steelers is a marriage made in heaven. The legendary QB and the iconic championship organization. I can't imagine the Steelers being one and done same as last year with Rodgers at QB. America is rooting for Aaron Rodgers to go out on top.
There you go. Your thread is now the offical Wild Card weekend thread. My picks Rams over Panthers Bears over Packers Bills over Jaguars 49ers over Eagles Patriots over Chargers Steelers over Texans
Any particular reason BN? Panthers are an 8-9 team. I want good playoff matchups that's why I want Rams to win to be honest.
The Panthers are the 10th worst playoff team in NFL history by DVOA since the stat was introduced in 1978. They are the biggest home dawg (-10.5) in wild card history. Of the other 9 teams on that DVOA ranking 5/9 covered the spread and won the game outright. I don’t think they have a chance today but pretty fascinating.
Can we rename this thread to Super Wild Card Weekend? The NFL conveniently dropped that moniker this year so when they add an 8th team in the next two years they can revive it. We Jets fans know the truth though.
All I know is I want the Cheats to be one and done. I'll be thrilled if I get my wish. I'll take that over the albatross losing (Rodgers), and hope they get demolished next game up.
The NFL called that phantom PI in on the Rams. Want to keep it close so they don’t lose viewers in a blowout.
Nice come back by the Panthers in the first half. Down 14-0 the game could've deteriorated into a Rams blowout. I can't believe McVay didn't kick the fg to get to 20 points. I can't believe Stafford missed Adams on that deep ball then Nacua dropped that perfect throw by Stafford after it looked like he may have had a hand injury. Panthers have made a bunch of mistake as well but all things considered I think they're in great shape. Good game so far.
Don't worry about the cheats. They won't make it to AFC Championship Game. In terms of Rodgers, he didn't do anything wrong against the Jets. Fuck Woody and Glenn. I don't like Steelers at all. Don't care if Steelers win or lose.
I hear you. They looked good but playoffs are a different animal. I will be surprised if they make it to AFC Champ game let alone Superbowl.
Packers-Bears. I am on the Bears bandwagon actually. Have seen enough of Packers in the playoffs. Want to see Bears proceed. Who do you guys like?
If the Bears punted a couple times this game is probably 10-3. Instead Ben Johnson tries to beat the odds and keeps going for it.
