we all saw him get burnt in the pro bowl. we all know hes not very good in coverage.

does he need a change of positions? ok, why not saftey? good size, very fast, good burst, decent enough in coverage to help out the cb's. ballhawk. hits like a truck, could help out against the run. if he hits a wr coming over the middle dead on... their wont be another wr coming over the middle.

im just throwing it out there, it looks like it will be hard for him to ever be more than a nickel back.

too small for saftey...AND HE CANT HIT! totally hit or miss on him when hes about to make a tackle, sometimes makes brilliant hits, others he isjust lost.

Great KO return guy, serviceable CB, i like him a lot

He is too small for safety.

With his speed, if we could teach him to catch the ball and run out of bounds, we wouldn't miss Santana Moss.

Joe Walton switched WR Bobby Humphery to DB in the mid 80's because he kept dropping everything. Humphery was a great KR guy and fast so he was too valuable at the time to cut. He turned out to be an OK DB, nothing special. I wonder if the current Jets brass would consider switching Miller to WR if he doesn't work out in the defensive backfield.......

He didn't really get completely burned, and I will still support Miller until he gets used to Mangini. He was with Boldin the whole way, it was a case of possibly the most physical receiver in the NFL, boxing him out and taking the ball away.

Maybe dumb, but he is not too small and he can hit he just has poor tackling technique. I still remember that huge hit on Keary Colbert in 2005, when he leveled him on a TD.

For the 999,999th time, he is not dumb. A tad on the thuggy side, but definitely not dumb. That's just a lazy excuse some like to use.

And for those who say he's not a big hitter, what games are you watching? He's one of the top 5 hitters in the league. He knocked out several RB's while at Clemson...

A proposed a change to safety last offseason, and I got thrashed for it. If the coaches feel they can teach him to wrap up better on run plays, then he'd be excellent, because his timing in coverage hits are very good.

I don't think we'll be needing this change anymore though, considering Eric Smith came on very strong as a hard hitter.

Yeah he may be good at safety, but we really have 3 solid safeties already......

First - it was the Pro Bowl. Who cares??????

Second, he was selected as a KR

Third, we have a surplus of very good safeties

Fourth, he can hit and still has a ton of potential. Is anybody immune to this ridiculous rush to judgment on players based on a small sampling? Let's give the guy a chance.

To base anything on the pro bowl is a joke.

eric smith and kerry rhodes are the future of this team at safety. Miller will pan out at CB. Just wait till mangini gets another year or two with him. He is still the youngest player on the team, give him time.
