    TITANS TO TANK HENRY

The Nashville Tennessean reports that the Titans will cut running back Travis Henry on Saturday, in order to avoid a roster bonus of $8.3 million that comes due on Monday.

The move will leave the team without Henry or Chris Brown under contract. LenDale White, a rookie in 2006, is the other tailback on the team. Thus, the Titans likely will be in the market for help at the position.

He's definitely a better option than anyone out there. However, you have to have a perfectly clean record for this team to even take a look at you... so I guess Henry won't visit the Jets.

He is 5' 9" and is the same type of back as Washington. I don't think he's a fit.

I think signing Henry would be a good move.

Henry always gave us trouble. But no, I agree with Tannenbaum. Build through the draft or, if the absolute right situation materializes, then and only then do you try to bring the right guy in at an affordable price. I think somebody will turn up in F/A... somebody who'll fit the situation (with Leon) and who wants to come to the Jets and is willing to do it without breaking the bank.

We're going to be okay with this.

corry dillon said he would love to play for the jets. thats what they sed on ESPN yesterday. so thats the guy that wants to play for us, now its up to the jets to sign him. i'd love to see him on the jets next year..i just contradicted myself cuz in another thread i sed i'd rather have chris brown, but i'm just as happy with either one

You can get a good RB on the second day of the draft we shouldn't sign any of these retreads for anything more than the league minimum.

whats wrong with any of them?? are u serious?! i'd love to get any of them on the jets. we cant address all our needs thru the draft buddy, there are 7 rds and we have 7 picks (that wont be used to trade up for qbs) and the RB position can be addressed thru FA so thats what the jets should do. they wont all want the big bucks..we have the cap room so why not get one of them

Because none of those RB do more for the team than letting Houston and Washington develop and get carries. Filling roster spots in FA with old mediocre talent is a waste. Since we currently don't have a RT on the team or a real NT or DE that might be a place to sign an older player who we may actually have to plug in. Signing a stop gap RB is just a waste of a roster spot.

travis henry had 1200 yards last season with a bad tennessee o line with the exception of mawae. chris brown didnt play much last year but definitely could have. tj duckett was not used properly either but 2 years ago he complimented Warrick Dunn perfectly and Washington runs like Dunn does and they are both small and fast. and dillon had 13 rushing TDs and 812 yards on 201 attempts while SPLITTING carries with maroney. o ya and he averaged 4.1 yards a carry. thats not mediocre, thats pretty damn good

The Jets have very mediocre talent we are rebuilding and are a 2 to 3 years away. Dillon is old and slow, the Pats have a big bruising OL we have an undersized finese line that gets almost zero push. Duckett and Dillion are going nowhere behind the Jets OL next year. These guys simply don't bring more to the table than what we have now.

then we draft LINEMEN IN THE DRAFT! Justin Blalock pick #25, Lamaar Woodley pick #37...there are good olinemen in the draft so lets get them. and i'm not saying we should draft a RB cuz depth is everything, but we dont need to get one of the day 1 RBs. there are FA options for the jets at RB so they shouldpick one of those options in dillon, brown, henry, or duckett
