Sign Porter, give up the picks for Turner, fill the rest of our needs in the draft. 2 2nd rounders O-line,dline, or cb. As a season ticket holder, this is what I want to see. All these other scenarios are beat. Its time to spend, and get better with the rest of our division. If we did this, we would have the best off-season. My opinion, thats all fellas, any agree?

I disagree because I don't want Turner, especially for that price.

I don't have a problem with Porter but Turner is not worth what it will take to get him money wise or draft pick wise. Turner is not an established back, to me he is another Jordan.

Nope. Don't agree. Build through the draft, give absolutely nothing for Turner, spend wisely until the team is one or two impact players away from winning the AFC Champoinship game. Which could be two years away, if not more.

Thank you, I'll be here all night. Try the veal!

Espn insider lists the Cowboys, Fins, Bengals, Browns, Ravens and Giants as interested in Porter. No mention of the Jets for what its worth. I do think it's interesting that every team in the AFC North that had to face Porter 2 times a year are all interested in landing him.

The Jet's are not going to go after a high profile guy like Porter. They appear to be willing to take their chances in the draft. I for one hope they go all defensive and offensive line on day one, because the thought of sitting through another season of a well-below average rushing offense and defense is not a pleasant one. Hopefully the day one picks can open holes for Houston/Washington...

Turner is not worth a 1st and a 3rd... shame on SD for not letting him go and make the big bucks.

Ok, good points, but im not too sure Porter out yet. Our front office is quiet, its just irritates me SO much, Porter is PERFECT for our D, and everyone knows it, I am sick of "hes not a Mangini or our organization type guy" We had this staff for ONE year, how does anyone know that?

Turner = Lamont Jordan = Not worth a 1st rounder or tons of money. Give us Turner for a 3rd rounder and I would be almost ok with it. He is an unproven and will stay unproven until he is proven. Lamont was also unproven when he went to the Raiders. Is he proven yet?

Build through the draft until such time as it is ok to gamble with millions in cap money.

I think you need to remember that we are in year 2 of rebuilding. We can't easily just buy players and spurn draft picks. I think most people would agree a 1st and 3rd round pick is just too much for an unproven backup. Plus joey porter has some major issues that would not mesh well with mangini. Our best bet is to continue looking foward and building players up through the draft. This FA season is just not really meant to be.

    A. thomas was tempting, but I am glad we didnt blow our wad on him. I will be even happier when he pulls a groin muscle after the 3rd game of the season next year and ends up on the bench for most of the regular season only to play hurt in the playoffs:p

And I will be smiling when we finnish building our fortress around Chad in the draft, add an actuall running game, and draft some Dline pass rushers this year. I will be loving the games that we win this year, and I will be ok with losing a few so long as the young guys are learning and absorbing the playbook on both sides of the ball.

Thats why you're not running the team. Sure, lets trade for an unproven RB and then fill our holes in the draft minus two high draft picks.
Uh, No thanks to Michael Turner.
We need those draft picks, I'd rather take Michael Bush in the second round.

Your pretty funny, unproven is Turner, and Michael Bush is proven? Turner at least played some NFL games and to all of you who say Lamont Jordan was the same, put Tomlinson behind that Raider line an see what you get. OUR O-coordinator knew him better than any of us and before the tender, Schott was raving about the kid. You dont HAVE to give up a first and a third for him, he can still be traded for. So how about, Barton and a second rounder? Then sign Porter, Something, ANY thing, rebuilding in the draft is a great idea, but the 25th pick in the draft has little value, let all the other geniuses on here keep saying TE in the first, im against it.

he meant you're betting the house on Turner...why not bet the minimum on Bush? I've begun to disagree about Bush though. I don't really want him. I'd much rather get Kenny Irons or Dwayne Wright if we're building through the draft.

No way the Chargers make that deal, they don't need Barton. Plus, we would still have to pay him big time money. Turner is unproven as a starter, i'd rather have someone from the draft who can grow up on our system.

Why give up a 1st and 3rd round pick for an unproven RB?

So the Jets would fill NT/OT/OG/CB/FB with 2nd round picks, a 5th, 6th and 7th?

I know its a high price for Turner, I was hoping they would try to trade for him, but how much of a difference would Porter be. Vilma, Porter , Hobson, and Thomas, wed be really hard to run on, plus the pass rush would be that much better. This is an opportunity to upgrade our D in one guy, not just the player, but he would better everyone around him. Turner will be good, I think everyone got off the Turner wagon when they tendered him 1st and 3rd, but hes still tradeable.
