He actually projects well to a 3-4 ILB as well, but ILB only. Sadly, as you said, he's probably gone to the Pats by our pick.

That's what I thought they would try him at. Do have a link where Mangini confirmed this?

He played DE in the 3-4 with the Dolphins.

Bowens and Wadsworth are being discussed at OLB. Look for Bowens to be a situational pass rusher this season and switch in and out with Hobson this season but with Hobson taking most of the snaps.

Wadsworth hasnt made the team yet, so where he plays really isnt a consideration right now and I dont think his signing will affect the draft. If the Jets draft an ILB it will have to be a guy bigger and more physically suited for the inside than Vilma. I dont think Poz fits that description and Willis seems a bit light (though taller) to play inside.

With all LBs on the roster right now and the needs at O line and CB, I really dont see the Jets picking up an LB in the first round.

However, I wont be surprised if they pick Tim Shaw in the second or third

Again, he played DE in the 4-3 with the Dolphins, and rotated in at OLB when the Dolphins went to the 3-4.

about time people are reconizing Bowens is a 3-4 OLB. And thanks for the people who put in the time and energy explaining Bowens is a 3-4 OLB. casuse I didnt have the energy.

Wadsworth to OLB. thats some new news
usually you carry 5 DE's so I guess there is still one more roster spot open
Ellis, Coleman, Hamilton, Kimo, I havent looked at any of our streetFA's and practice squad players

  8. I dont necessarily think we'll move up or anything like that for an LB. But I do believe if a guy like Willis or Posluszny fell to # 25 that they maybe our selection. Mangini does indeed come from the Parcells school of thought which believes that you need to load up on versatile/multi-talented LB's.

I am curious how you can say that he is a 4-3 LB and then in the same paragraph talk about him going to the Eagles and Pats. If im not mistake dont the Pats, Eagles, and Jets now all look for the same kind of players for their scheme?

    Youth?

  10. The pats and jets very well might, but the Eagles play an aggressive blitz friendly 4-3 scheme.

Tim Shaw will be a better fit for what we need at OLB than Posluszny.

It really looks like the front 7 guy worth taking in the draft that might drop to the Jets is much more likely to be a guy that projects as a linebacker in the 3-4 than a defensive lineman. Jarvis Moss, Anthony Spencer and Lawrence Timmons are 3 guys who look like possible drops to the 25. On the line really nobody looks like they'll get beyond 15 or so.
