Would you consider them with a 2nd round pick? I would prefer Watson because I think he would fit in well as a NT in a 3-4 scheme. They were both highly regarded players at the beginning of the year but had dissappointing seasons.
Their different players. Watson would be a great 3-4 NT, Wright would be a great 3-4 end. I would have to pass on both though because both are underachivers.
Wright was horrible last year, and no worse than in the biggest game of his life (in fact I think he had 0...yeah ZERO tackles in the Rose Bowl). Watson is really inconsistent. They both have talent, both never produced to expectations, especially Wright. If one's available in the third they are intruiging. My guess? We don't draft either one of them.
Watson with our 2nd round pick would be a steal, and he is a true 3-4 NT. However, he'll be gone between picks 20 and 30. So, unless we trade up from 36, down from 4, or get a late 1st rounder for Abe, we'll have no shot at Watson.
I agree. USC ran White up the gut time and time again as if Wright wasn't even there. As for Gabe, I'm a huge Michigan guy and the consenus is this kid has top 5 talent but no motor. He basically spent 4 years in the doghouse relating to his effort, no reason to think he'll turn it around. Someone may make a big mistake with him in the first round.
Gabe has only played in a 3-4....and the knock on him from all the scouts is he takes a lot of plays off. We already have one lazy DT in Dewayne.
