I am not saying A. Brooks is the answer at QB, but he is not that bad. I know he looked silly at times (throwing backwards at an o-lineman) and has brain farts every once in awhile, but he can sure sling the ball around. I wouldn't mind taking him to compete with Penny, if the price is right. He might need a change of scenery. Your thoughts.............Go Jets!

Can be had without giving up a draft pick.

A change of scenery may do him good.He had decent numbers and took the Saints to the playoffs.

Good point........we dont have to give up any draft picks and we can draft a QB (preferably Croyle in round 2)....

Not only would some of us never touch Brooks, neither will Mangini. And his opinion matters a lot more than ours.

considering the mistakes that have been made at QB with this franchise, investing in Brooks would just be another. You guys should do whatever it takes to get Matt Leinart. Move the franchise forward, not backwards.

that being said, I hope you guys sign Aaron Brooks and set the franchise back again:)

Brooks did carve us up last year with some sweet passes...I'm not a fan of his but he maybe worth a one year deal to help groom a rookie...Just speculation

I wouldn't throw in any rookie with our current line situation unless he can run for his life well...Don't think Leinart is much of a scrambler

The only thing I'd bring Brooks in for is to make Penny look good. It may not be a bad idea actually. Penny can get his confidence up by making the beater look foolish. Then after Penny gets hurt and Brooks actually has to play...

Oh yeah - scratch that idea.

Very good point. If we could get him signed on for a short term, he wouldn't be a bad option. I have heard many say that no matter what, they want the Jets to field a competitive team.

While A. Brooks is no great QB, he is serviceable. If could be signed for a short 2-3 year deal with a moderate salary, I say why not? He has a cannon for an arm, and can avoid the rush with his speed. He was one of my fantasy QB's last year and I watched him play a bit. Although his numbers appeared to be less then stellar, remember he played most of last year with out his best receiver Joe Horn. Horn was down with injuries all year. The Saints also lost McAllister with a knee or leg injury, and Stecker was injured most of the year as well.

Its hard for any QB to look good when the supporting cast is not around you. Just ask our QB's....Or should I say our recievers.....
