Are your kiddin me?!?!?! How are you guys dissapointed with this draft? We got a potential shut-down cb and a very fast LB...this guy will let Vilmatic run free!!!!!...you forget about Pouha, and D-Rob is getting better and better...also, we are probably trading Mccareins and Barton...also, tackling dummies in 6th and 7th? How about Marques Colston...tackling dummy?...anyway..quantity over quality...thats a herm edwards draft strategy...yea, lets not take an impact player because we need 8 so-so players...please...you have to be kiddin me...this draft is going great, we got 2 guys who are probably, barring injury or slow developement, going to start next year!

Linebackers don't run free in a 3-4. It's not how the defense works.

I agree. I do like our picks, even though we gave up a little more than I wanted. I'm just sad that I have to root against Poz twice a year now.

We have had a monster draft for the defense...two beasts...

All we need to do now is get some picks back and this will be a GREAT draft.

well im saying the deception...a blitz, can't vilma run behind him while he takes up blockers?...if you blitz both of them, this dude is like 6'1, and runs 4.5, he will take up blockers

I would feel the same way, it's just that I don't understand who Harris replaces. Barton isn't a backup, is he?

I like our picks, but not how you described them.

No one is giving anything besides a 7th rounder for Barton or JMac.

    keep in mind

The Draft Right Now (including the Jones trade which must be considered)

1st) Revis - By all accounts a top 15-20 talent and the best CB available at our weekest need. The TOP CB drafted in the last 5-10 years has with few exceptions done very well right away. We got him ten spots ahead of where we picked. That is simply tremendous

2nd) David Harris - Lets face it, we all watched Brad Kasell play the inside position in our 3-4, needless to say we'll see him on special teams or on another team next year. Harris is a perfect fit in the 3-4 next to Vilma. He is also a high charactor guy who will help with the overall execution of our defense. Jim Hermann coached him for two years, i'm sure he had a lot of input on this choice. We got him anywhere from 10-20 spots ahead of where we were slated to draft depending on whose board you go by. Again, TREMENDOUS value @ 47

Late 2nd early 3rd + trade downs in the 5th / 6th Thomas Jones - 1,200 yards and a superbowl appearance largely due to his ability to carry the rock. Not as good a trade as it originally appeared but it allowed us to get both of those above players at the position we did.

This is simply a fantastic job, anyone who dosn't agree, does not know football.

I am thrilled with our draft! Going with this kinda quality over quantity is ok in my book!!

i like the actual players we got, but we screwed up this draft big time. im not happy with what we did at all, especially to move up in round one. the move we made for jones was good, the move we made for harris was ok, but i dont think revis was worth giving up two other picks for. we could have drafted someone else and shored up some other positions and better served ourselves.

its just bitter/sweet for me. Especially w/ Harris. It was like, yeah we got a run stopper but i was grinding my teeth when i saw what we gave up to get him. But then again, Harris would definitely be gone by pick 63. Hell, it was surprising he fell that far!

we got good players in the spots we drafted them at, but we gave up too much to put ourselves in those places.

And pick who? ... i dont think anyone besides Hall has the same talent as Revis .. Ross maybe but we wouldnt be able to get him at 25 anyways.

you could have got one of the three at 25. im happy with the player we took in revis, im just not happy that, paired with the trade we made for harris, that we're walking away from the draft with 4 (5 if you count jones) players., when i could have seen us doing much better.
