... says the Jets fan. I may be ill-advised, but I will trust Pioli and Belichick over a Jets fan. Sorry, but that's just me.

As I trust Mangini and Tannenbaum. But then, I wasn't asking you to trust me.

It does make me laugh though the way the media protrays the patriots as being some kind of draft geniuses when if someone was to come to you and say "hey can have my 2nd round pick and my 1st next year for your second first round pick" then 99.9% of teams would've done exactly the same but because the patriots do it its somehow genius.

The guy on espn radio kept saying "its impossible to criticise anything the patriots do in the draft" ffs

in this case, it was a 4th this year and a 1st next year. But the deal they did with the Ravens a few years ago (Boller trade) was what you said.

BTW, San Fran later fleeced Indy and got their 1st rounder next year.

Not to let facts get in the way of a good post, but the gun was registered, it was determined he fired back in self defense and no charges were ever filed.

The facts are - he has a gun. Why does a 20 year old pack a gun. Don't tell me because of the 'hood. There are plenty of kids who live in the hood that don't pack. The real down side to this guy is his stomping on a vulnerable player's stomach while in a headlock - not once but twice. It's not the heat of the action - heat of the action is taking a swing at someone face to face. Not stomping on someone to hurt. Patriots are all about character and values my ass. With the signings of Stallworth, Moss and Merri they have comprimised their OWN SELF professed standards because of need. The fact that Moss will be a good boy does not justify the comprimising of Bob Kraft's model franchise standards of character. The end does not justify the means. They have dropped a significant notch in my book and the media should call them on it, but they won't. Never again will anyone take Kraft seriously when he goes into his family character monologue.

That's OK. They will have their time, just like every other team. They are playing smart right now. The Moss trade though...it might make or break their team.

Look at the Giants last year. I know Coughlin can't be compared to BellyChick but the Giants completely lost it with a couple of people opening their mouth.

Once Moss gets upset, it might be fun for us Jets fans. They will still be a good team, but they might lose a little respect.

he doesn't have a history of gun charges, he wasn't charged with anything, and the police said that he acted legally in all aspects of the situation.

hahaha...This guy sound like an angel. Ok Mr. wonderful, Mr. never do anything wrong. The fact is veryone make mistakes in there life at one time or another. To crucify a guy for a football fight is a bit too harsh.

I really don't see this happening, Beli doesn't take shit from no one. I remeber when Terry Glenn was acting up and being a little bitch, Beli just deactivates him and also consider Moss' new contract.

Moss' contract is considered as a 1 year contract. There can't be any bitching before he is on his way to a new team.

You can add this to your list of facts:

Merri's dad is a cop, and he was following his dad's path by majoring in criminology. So you're right, it had nothing to do with the 'hood as you put it. And what the hell is wrong with a 20 year old American having a LICENSED gun??

What about Cox, Dillon and Harrison? Yeah, those were some real high class character guys BEFORE they came to NE. The Pats were CRUCIFIED by the media, and I'm sure by you, when they signed Dillon. You know the rest of that story...

Those guys get a clean slate when they come to the Pats. If they screw up, they're gone.

Man, one would think you'd know more about your rival team.

Cox was a model citizen with the Jets. He later played for the Patriots. So no go on any Moss comparisons.

Dillon was in and out of jail as a youth. He was not a problem with the Bengals till his last year there when he complained about the constant losing. So no go on any Moss comparisons there, either.

Harrison was never a problem off the field as far as I know. He was just dirty on the field. So no go on any Moss comparisons there, either.

You need to learn about your own players.

Oh my bad. Didn't realize we were only discussing character issues "off" the field

So Harrison being dirty on the field is just fine, but if he does something bad off the field, thennnn he has character issues. Got it.

    Carry on

Dirty hits on the football field are nowhere near as bad as running afoul of the law. Carry on, yourself.
