Hello all J - E - T -S jets jets jets! My name is Eric and I live in Atlanta and I am a Falcon Fanatic. Whats your take on the Shcaub/Abraham trade?
I want him. I really wanted to keep JAbe. He is one of the best pass-rushing DEs in the league, but if it nabs us a top-quality QB, then given that the whole Abe situation has become nasty around here, it would make great sense for us to get it done. As far as the total package, that will get some real debate. Many of us feel that we will get fleeced in the deal. We honestly believe Abe is worth Schaub and your second-round pick. It may sound like a lot, but Abe is as good as they come. You're getting a Pro-Bowler who has learned to be healthy.
ring,ring,ring.. tannenbaum:"hello?" mckay:"hey there mikey, how ya doing?, listen abe passed the physical, we came to a contract agreement, and the deal is pretty much done.the only thing that is holding this back is you.i got a 3rd rounder, and possibly a 2nd if you r really nice with me..." tannenbaum:"that's ok, i'm on the phone with Al Davis right now, let me call you back, i have to arrange for JAbe to fly to oakland this weekend..TOOTLES!!!" mckay:"wait, wait, wait," but all he hears is a dialtone he tries to call tannenbaum back but tannenbaum has caller i.d. and wont pick up. that my little falcon fan is whats happening right now.
How cool is this. You can actually go to another teams boards and discuss things without being immidatley labeled a troll. I can tell you that in Shcaub you would be receiving stand up guy with good morals and oh yea, he's a helluva QB to. Everyone in the ATL loves the guy. To be totally honest, I would love for him to be our starting QB. He has the height, pocket awareness, and arm that an NFL QB needs to be successful. Although he lost the two stars that he has for us, keep in mind that he was playing behind a crappy O Line with 2 of its starters on the bench. :eaglessuck: :eaglessuck:
yea, honestly, if theyve given Abe a physical before a trade is worked out, theyve blown a lot of their leverage. One way or another, Id expect some news pretty soon on this.
I think that both sides want to get it done. I see us giving up Schaub and a 3rd round pick. I hate to loose Schaub but I also think that he deserves a shot at being a starter which will not happen here unless the 1 million dollar man goes down.
Yeah, it's pretty competition friendly around here, as long as you keep it cool. You asked in a friendly fashion, so we respond the same. We actually even "kinda sorta" get along with Miami and Oakland fans here. Good points on Schaub. I think he would be fantastic here. BTW: I think you guys would be much better off with him than Vick, but Vick virtually guarantees your team will appear on Monday night every year, regardless of the previous year's record.
Hey, don't get ahead of yourself buddy. No one has called you a troll. Hell, we even appreciate certain Fin and Patsy fans here. Anyway, I have no clue what the "deal" is right now, since there are multiple reports, each giving us different news of what's being packaged together and whatnot. Personally, I think it better be either Shaub and a 2nd, or just the first rounder for Abe. I don't know if it'll get done, but that's what I would call a fair trade.
I like Schaub and I'd love to have him. However for all of the potential Schaub has, I don't think a backup QB = pro bowl DE so I would be very disapointed in an Abraham for Schaub straight up trade. Abe for Schaub and a 2nd rounder is really pushing it from a Jets standpoint. A fair trade is probably Abraham for Schaub and a 3rd. Also welcome to the board ERIC
I think if it includes Shaub (whic most signs are pointing to not e. g. ramsey) then we have to get him and at least a 3rd rounder, though i'd be happier with a second rounder. If it isn't Shaub then we should get a first this year and 4th this year.
Didn't say we did. Just said the guy did pretty well (in his limited playing time) with mediocre recievers.
